So the Eviscerator is now like the Gnasher from Gears and the Mantis is like the Sniper Rifle from Halo 8->
I think I'll need to inject this game into my veins because this demo is sooo goood
I think I'm sticking with Sentinel my first run through. Good mix of abilities, and the new health system rewards not losing shields or medigel.
"Bitch I'm wearing like, two sets of armor."
Sums up my feelings pretty well. I played as a soldier in ME1, vanguard in ME2, so this will round out Vladimir Shepard's wacky military career well I think.
Oh, and I re-preordered again. *phew* That was a close one.

Hmm...I wonder how many skillpoints we get total this game. I need to start doing some pre-game planning.
...Also while you're at it make Jade Empire 2, please.
Fuck the haters. I love that game. You guys could even like collab with Rocksteady and have them do the gameplay or something.
>_>
Jade Empire was my first Bioware game.
I loved it so much. I really do hope it gets a follow up some day.
Jade Empire was such an amazing game. Favorite Bioware game hands down.
Though I hope a hypothetical Jade Empire 2 just, uh, refines the gameplay instead of replacing it. It was super fun to play on PC. Arkham City... was not.

Were you using a keyboard? Can't say I've played AC on keyboard but it seems to me that it'd be better suited for using a controller instead.

Yeah, that was the issue. I had Asylum for the 360 before mine broke and it was fun, but on PC I vastly prefer using the keyboard as an input and the Arkham games are just plain unfun to play that way. JE was more fun to play on PC than it was on the Xbox for me.
Plus the style switching was my favorite thing, and shoehorning in one rather generic way to fight would sort of defeat that.
So uhh... Remember how cool Warp Explosions were in ME2? Yeah, ME3 has Charge Explosions. Apparently any direct power can set off a Singularity now. Liara best party member confirmed.
That's my girl!

I played Asylum with a pad, but Arkham City with the keyboard - twice, since it deleted my save (twice), and I thought it worked well, actually. Never played JE on console, but if they had a combat system more like Batman I would call that glory, because that combat was pretty tedious.

For ME3 I'm probably going to run Ashley/Garrus as my main two squaddies.
I played Asylum with a pad, but Arkham City with the keyboard - twice, since it deleted my save (twice), and I thought it worked well, actually. Never played JE on console, but if they had a combat system more like Batman I would call that glory, because that combat was pretty tedious.
Eh, I liked the combat in Jade Empire more than I liked the actual combat in the Arkham series(Sneaking and picking people off was amazing. Fighting... egh) because I liked the style switching and how you could do things in such radically different ways. It was also a slower tempo, which was nice because I'm not exactly a fan of the kind of hectic free-for-alls combat in the Arkham games usually devolves into.
So, to the people who played the demo, how are the new grenade powers? Specifically the Adept one. It looks bad and kind of pointless, but I'd like some people who have actually played with it's opinions.

I've only used the sentinel and infiltrator ones but they were both pretty useful especially since they don't have cooldowns and can work even when other powers are recharching which means you can set up some cool combos
and I'm not sure where ammo comes from for them but I got new grenades fairly regularly

I would say that it's special effect is somewhat redundant for Adept.
But it has no cooldown time, a pretty big AoE, and it does a shit-ton of damage. So pretty good. But with so many good powers, you have a lot of options.
Also it sends enemies flying every which way, which is great for breaking off entrenched groups.
See, I'm just afraid that I won't use it for the same reason I never used grenades/Heavy Weapons outside of fringe circumstances. Limiting ammo severely makes me hoard it, and after how much of a pain it was to try to use even some basic weapons in ME2 (Like the Heavy Pistols or Sniper Rifles. HERE's ONE WHOLE SHOT for your pistol/sniper, 60 for your Locust...) I'm leery of managing another resource.

see I do that with my heavy weapons in ME2
but with the grenades I was just throwing them off all the time, they are useful but not so useful that I feel the urge to horde them all for boss fights
So, partly to kill time, I was thinking of the different films that helped inspire Mass Effect. To save time and space, I'm only sticking to the big ones.
Terminator- Mankind fights for survival against a race of unstoppable machines... yeah, no similarities here.
Dirty Harry- A cowboy cop goes out to clean up the mean streets, he doesn't have TIME to play by the book!
Dune- Worms, lots of worms.
Blade Runner- For its depiction of a plausable, if somewhat dead, future city. Also, lots of rogue AIs persecuted for fair, and unfair reasons.
Star Wars- For the visual depiction of space battles. Yes, there's tons of hard science, but the battles still look like straight up dogfights and slugfests.
Star Trek- Man finding a place in the stars, with green space babes, warrior races, and punching. Lots of punching.
Starship Troopers- The book for the more general concept of space marine, but the film for the Rachni.
5th Element- A snazzy future with a lot of cool visuals, and somewhat rarely, shows that even in the future. People are still mostly... well, people.
So uhh... Remember how cool Warp Explosions were in ME2? Yeah, ME3 has Charge Explosions. Apparently any direct power can set off a Singularity now. Liara best party member confirmed.
That's awesome. Seems like it sort of eliminates the need for Nova, though.
Are squad mates still crazy accurate with SMGs and sniper rifles?

Garrus was still kicking butt with his sniper rifle. He took down turrets really fast.
I would be ok with resource management if the game gave me a full loadout of all items everytime I made planetfall. Full Heavy, full grenades, full medigel, full thermal clips (that one happens, but Im naming it) It kind of makes sense, that you'd gear up before leaving your ship.
To keep it from being gimicky, you wouldnt be able to hop back to the ship in the middle of a mission, but I'd accept that aspect of it in city/quest hub areas.

Oh god I wish you never put this idea in my head
the whole world is now darker for seeing that sun.
I'm disapointed only because I wanted Shepard to be able to bull-rush the prosecutor like in the Flotila trial.
DLC court case confirmed.
From the demo I feel like each class is so well made now I don't even need bonus power.
Figuring out what I want to level on Vanguard is going to be a pain.
Jade Empire was my first Bioware game.
I loved it so much. I really do hope it gets a follow up some day.
Sentinel is fantastic, I did not die once on insanity through the demo
Lift grenades are really fun

Oh, and I re-preordered again. *phew* That was a close one.
I don't usually run out unless I'm making dumb mistakes in combat and being able to revive teammates without it is great
adds some more urgency to actually closing with the enemies
My Shepard is going to be so suicidal.
"Shepard, you're bleeding bad...there's blood everywhere."
"But...my...levels. Just...200...more..points."

I don't even own BF1, let alone 3. :bz
Wait, you're not asking that rhetorically? I, err... yeah, I think that's how it works. As noted, if that's the case then I'm still SOL.
That's my girl!
Just like ol' times.

Whatever though, Jade Empire 2 isn't coming out. Mass Effect 3 is!

But my complete failure as a vanguard haunts me
I'm afraid to even tell you guys. Afraid you won't forgive me. I wish the save editor or more playthroughs could fix it.
if it's anything like ME2 we'll hit level cap 3/4ths of the way through anyway
probably even earlier since we're going to be importing at level 30 already
XP is not going to be an issue at all

C&C Generals was the best political satire ever produced.
That's awesome. Seems like it sort of eliminates the need for Nova, though.
Are squad mates still crazy accurate with SMGs and sniper rifles?
Slipped my mind, but fits perfectly.
still don't know what to make of shockwave, though. it does decent damage, but it doesn't seem Vanguard-y and Adept can just use Warp.
its like 4 seconds or something
It's just that so many other abilities look good too.
Like I have no idea what I'm going to do for Vanguard.
I'll probably max out Charge, Nova, Incend. ammo, Fitness, and Assault.
If I have any points level over...no idea.
I think squadmate cooldowns are more in-line with what we can expect in the full game with upgrades + reasonable loadout

if that means no incendiary then so be it
pull the enemy and immediately have the vanguard charge it
