You might be right. Do you have an idea? It's not really "Classic" Beast, since that's his old non-furry look, and it's not "Furry" Beast, since most of his looks are furry.
The way those veins look, the shading around the neck, and the face design made me think Beast's head had mutated to look like one of those black goo-spitting dinosaurs in Jurassic Park whose name I can't remember right now.

According to the X-Office, they go with Gorilla Beast
also I just want to mention this since I haven't seen anyone say it yet
Avengers #5
"Blackveil" seems like a synonym of sorts for "Nightmask", doesn't it? Although he doesn't seem anything like the character otherwise based on what I can glean from Wikipedia.
Yeah, it was definitely heavy handed. Cap thinks so himself right after he says it. "Damn. Went at him too hard. The family thing - pushing his buttons."
The thing is, he saw Clint with a lot of unfulfilled potential, and he was trying to push him to show what he is capable of.
Cap differs from Superman mainly in that he is a soldier who has seen real combat, which makes him more hard-edged than Superman usually is. Cap has no problem being the drill sergeant when he needs to be.
Well yeah, I don't think he's changed his stance on killing. There's a big difference between using drill sergeant tactics to try and motivate someone and being against killing though.
i would think that, yeah cap has killed. he probably doesn't even really regret doing it. it was a necessary measure in the war he was fighting
but steve is never not an idealist looking for the best in people. so when he's surrounded by the avengers, what is essentially the best humanity has to offer, killing is no longer a measure that should ever be necessary to him because they possess the means to find a better way
Cap these days will kill because he is a soldier but I always felt that was a bit lazy
like saying he's conservative because he's from the 30's and 40's, as is the classic portrayal
I'd prefer for him to buck the trend a bit
A soldier: whose experiences have led him to believe all life is sacred and worth protecting
From the 30's and 40's: And thus more left-wing than any mainstream politician in the US is right now
Cap will kill armed soldiers on a field of battle when he is forced to, but I mean he's not gonna shoot Batroc ze Leaper during an attempted bank robbery. The dude is a war veteran who believes it's his duty to preserve life whenever possible but also would concede the necessity of deadly force between small groups of trained and designated soldiers.
That's the dichotomy of the character that I actually really like, and why I don't think it's mischaracterization when he's mildly okay (okay isn't the right word, willing is better) to kill while raiding a hydra base with the secret avengers, versus his moralistic stance against the Illuminati.
Yeah I mean I know he wont shoot Batroc or whatever
But I'd prefer Cap if he didn't shoot people in war after WWII as well
because I just think that would be more interesting

If you reading the old Cap stuff, Cap's never really been a drill sergeant, it's a modern thing since the MK Cap run and Bendis. Leader, sure (although that's always been a more defacto thing), but he never had that toughen you up mentality or really acted like it. In the past the connection between Superman and Cap was more obvious I think because they weren't trying to make it a big deal, but nowadays they are, and it just doesn't work as well. You also have to remember Steve basically quits on America every 7-8 years, I think Superman's only done it once (I've never liked the idea that when America is in malaise, Cap is, etc).

Awful great!
Let Hulk run loose in one corner of Madripoor, while the rest of the team sneaks around the other.
Drop Hulk on one side of Latveria. Drop Punisher on the other. Watch the havoc be unleashed and wait for whichever one reaches the capital first.
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic
It looks like Tony got his new armor right at the beginning of Marvel Now or just before it and then everything else, like New Avengers and so on.
the Kirby pre-fur can be Original Beast
Cat Beast 4 eva.
It's modeled after actual apes.
I like my Beast looking, well, bestial.
Maybe she realized that the head of the world's top spy organization shouldn't be easy to find.

I write about video games and stuff. It is fun. Sometimes.
Also, Beast should have monkey feet. I don't think this is even up for debate.
If Beast can't hold test tubes with his feet, what is even the point.
holy shit I want this as a poster on my wall

Bit heavy handed? I can't figure out whether it's the writers I've read so far or whether his character runs me the wrong way...
The thing is, he saw Clint with a lot of unfulfilled potential, and he was trying to push him to show what he is capable of.
I think that's the problem. I'm comparing him to Superman at his best. All-star Superman just wouldn't say something like that.
but whatever
refused to kill, like was sacred, no excuses etc

He fills that role in the Marvel U, but he dosen't fill it in the same way.
