Yeah, never heard of any of this stuff before. That game with the cars sounds pretty awesome though, maybe the whole bundle's worth it just for that!

Burnout Paradise might be the best game in the bundle, for real

Edit: Wait the HRC is transphobic?

I think I played a demo of Burnout Paradise or something years ago (because the game is a few years old now, right?) and the acceleration felt weird and cartoony - it was like the arcadiest possible racing game ever. It made GTA 4 feel like DiRT and DiRT feel like Project CARS or some super realistic racing sim. I'm not sure that's necessarily bad but my feelings at the time were "if this is a game about JUST being in a car, I think I want it to feel more like being in a car." I guess I could enjoy an abstract sort of racing game like F-Zero or something where nothing behaved like real cars, so I should be able to enjoy Burnout Paradise even if the cars behave nothing like cars, but something about it just felt off, and I'm not sure if it was the mismatch of actual cars to hilariously cartoony handling, or whether the cartoony handling itself turned me off completely apart from how weird it made things feel in the semi-realistic setting.

And yes HRC is shitty towards trans* people and has been since its inception. More info here. I think it has gotten a bit better in recent years but not much.

A lot of those types of places are shitty towards everyone, but ESPECIALLY those who are already ignored or treated poorly, like trans people.

Burnout Paradise is one of my desert island top 5 games. I fucking love that game. LOVE IT.

It is basically the ultimate arcade racer

if only the DLC actually worked.

as a heads-up: burnout, crysis 2 and medal of honor provide separate usable origin keys through steam after you activate them (different from the ones the bundle gives you)
dead space 1 technically does as well, but it's a bit of a pain: you have to install it, dig the key out of your computer's registry, then enter in into one of the ea legacy redemption sites, not origin proper

  • exisexis Registered User regular
The only problem with Burnout Paradise is that it's so fucking awesome that I've already played an absurd amount of it on 360. I feel like it would be insane to install on another platform now.

That is an exceptional bundle. I don't even think I'll be able to run any of those games on our current PC, so this is a completely pre-emptive buy.

edit: Oh outstanding, didn't realise it also came with the Battlefield 3 and Sims 3 soundtracks. Day = made.

In a week where EA games, the killer of such studios as Bullfrog and Origin, is running a Humble Bundle, I present to you the least appealing description of a Humble Bundle ever:
This week’s Humble Weekly Sale is a curation of five indie games handpicked by PewDiePie!
    The games are good though.

well, except for McPixel, which I count among the worst games I've ever played

Hey, the Humble Indie Bundle lets me pay via credit card now. That's cool.

Do either the Origin Bundle or the Weekly Sale hand out individual Steam keys? I know that some of the recent Humble Indie Bundles have done that, but I was bummed to discover the Deep Silver bundle didn't.

    Both give individual Steam keys.

There are little symbols next to game thumbnails that denote which service that particular game is on.

The question was whether you get a Steam key per game, not whether you get Steam keys at all.

    From Reddit:
According to steam database, keys for Dead space 2, medal of honor airborne, bulletstorm, and red alert 3 uprising were all updated at the same time as the other steam games in bundle so they will probably be added to beat the average in a few days.

Well, red alert 3's standalone single-player-only expansion is exciting.

    I love Bulletstorm bro

Medal of Honor Airborne is a fine generic WW2 FPS. Dead Space 2 is pretty great.

I said to myself, "HAH! Humble bundle! You failed this time, I own most of those games and will not install Origin! Today, I keep my money!"
And then I saw the weekly deal, and hung my head, and clicked "Buy Now".
Well played, Humble Bundle, well played.

Don't the Humble Bundle extras usually unlock after the 7-days-to-go mark? It's been a week. :-(

The weekly sale ends in 20 hours and the Humble Bundle has 6 days 20 hours so maybe then( in ~20 hours)?

Too bad you won't be able to buy Bulletstorm's DLC after tonight and the game itself will probably end up dead when GFWL shuts down. You might be able to play it in offline mode, but I never got it to work.

Would be cool if BS's DLC was included, though.

Oh god, I figured I was making a mistake by buying games that had to be on Origin. But for charity that was OK.

It turns out that the Sims uses a totally different system.

EA this is why everyone hates you.

[edit] Maybe not. According to the HB page it should be the same but when I try to log in it doesn't work or even tell me that the password is wrong/whatever.

Still it's worth hating EA for not integrating this into Origin.

CHECK THIS SHIT OUT. Great Paradox bundle. Leviathan Warships, Crusader Kings 2, Magicka...

Also you can pay $125 for basically every game Paradox has ever made. That should drive up their average.

Just dropping in to say that the current Groupees Be Mine bundle is totally worth it for Ring Runner. I'm twenty hours into the campaign and having a great time fitting up various ships for different combat roles.

I liked Omerta, it's not a super complicated game but if you like the setting it's definitely worth it.

Note that this bundle is slightly different. You can't get the games added in the second week just by buying early anymore; now you actually have to BTA.

Yes. I emailed them and got back a form email immediately saying to restart Steam. It worked after that.
