Now that my thumb is no longer broke I'm returning to SC2, and I want to learn Zerg(!)
I'm learning 14 pool into expand for ZvP, hatch first for ZvT and ZvZ, with adjustments for what I scout.
A few questions for our resident Z's:
1) What's your hotkey setup? I played a couple games last night to get the basic feel for the race, and I liked having individual hatches hotkeyed and just clicking queens for larva injects. Is there a better scheme for this?
2) How do you handle rally points for your larvae? I kept ending up with drones idling, or overlords in my mineral lines.
3) If your opponent early expands, what time do you tend to throw down your third?
then how about fucking practicing that stuff, looking up ways to defend shit, rather than your non-stop ineccesant fucking bitching
seriously
if you do not have the micro to do something successfully, keep fucking practicing it until you do
guess what
you lose in this game
you lose a lot
especially when trying new stuff and trying to improve
but that's neccessary
to actually learn the new stuff
or you could just keep bitching, and when people give you advice you can just go 'NO THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE MIIICROOOOOOOOOOO', because i guess that's productive???
I think I might love you.
I definitely understand the fear of trying new builds due to micro requirements. I used to be pretty horrible at blink stalker micro, to the point where I rarely researched it and if I did I often didn't use it at all during fights. To change this, I started going straight for blink every game, regardless of what my scouting revealed. Essentially, I put myself into a situation where my success depended on whatever micro I was weakest in, and then focused on that until it improved. Now, I am not saying that you have to go all out like I did, but it can certainly help to give yourself just one unit to micro at the expense of all others and focus on improving that in all of the situations you might find yourself in.
The most important thing is not to worry about losses due to factors other than the one you are improving. If you loose because you didn't get detection or you were out macroed don't let that make you think that you aren't improving the area you are training. Then, once it is at a level you are happy with go back to playing like normal and you will keep most of that improvement.

A gem from bnet forums:
when this patching things will end....every single patch come out is against Terran,...Billizard...we paid to play this game....and we have to follow your order while playing game.....Terran already need so many micro.....ghost is the most important unit....I say this by watching Pro play..not from my experiense....seriously.....alots of people take this game really seriously....plz dont rune it!!

I am in a persistent state of finding where I am weakest and doing that every game. I used to be pretty bad at missing forcefields, but then I focused on it and now I miss forcefields every game.
In a hurry right now, so you get a cut/paste from my spreadsheet. Remember that first veto is determined by alphabetical order of your PA forum name.

Keb, you're diamond? Rank 4? (i.e. almost Masters)
For some reason, on the spreadsheet, you're listed as Plat, and that's why you're in the 2nd bracket.
haha, mig, I talked to invictus about moving me up to tier 1 and he said that i had to stay in tier 2. But nonetheless, it won't prevent the inevitable outcome of your team, "eating our dust" figuratively and literally.
lolololol... just played some guy in consecutive PvT's on the ladder. It was a complete donging. Not perfect execution on my part, but my gameplans went off pretty much exactly as planned.
Any critiques would be much appreciated. I know I need to be more active with my observers, and I meant to build the dark shrine much sooner. I wanted to pressure his gold base when I moved out, but he went with a ling runby. My sentries were out of position to forcefield, but I thought my crisis management was pretty good. Later on I won every engagement, which is very rare for me.
Even though I won, I think there are some rough edges in the play.
good ZvZ example of how important it is to get drones faster despite ending the game with the same amount of drones

I love insultingly early thirds-- taking your third while the probe is watching makes me super happy.

I have no idea what good expanson timings are.
Allows for more flexibility in reacting to tech switches, forming a stronger game sense, and pulling rabbits out of hats.

You can go right ahead and fuck off then sir.
It shall be a PvP to end all PvPs.
e: Guess Impy already implied this to Trunkers, but at least this makes sure Invictus is aware of it.
Undergrad, graduate, professional?
Foreigners 2-0, haypro is up!
EDIT: Or Highpro as this caster likes to say
I like freestyling play in theory but in practice it often turns into "oh wait this was actually just a garbage idea."
But definitely builds general mechanics / game sense / crisis management over the course of hundreds of games.
