Recovering a file I thought I saved, but had opened from my email
Basically title sums it up. Someone sent me a file to work on, I spent a while doing my thing, did Ctrl-S, closed the program and went to email it back. Of course, it's not on my computer, cause I had only opened it from my email. I've done this before, it's so annoying.
Anyway it's somehow on my computer somewhere? Thanks,
Martin
If it's Outlook, there's a special temp folder that your file might be saved to.
Navigate to your Temporary Internet Files folder. Make sure you have hidden files and folders turned on. You should see a subfolder called OLKxx (where the xx may be random numbers).
If you don't see it there, go back to your email and open up an attachment. Do a File > Save As. The OLK folder I mentioned earlier should open up in the "Save file as" dialog. You can find your folder in this save dialog and drag it out to your desktop.
