Name that anime!

Casually Hardcore

I need help trying to remember this title.

It's about a young girl who's starting high school in the near future. Basically it's about her and student government trying to rekindle school spirit in a world where school has been corporationlized. The main story arch is them setting up a school fair. Main character haves a rocket scooter. All girl cast. Came out 3-5 years ago.

That's all I can remember.

This one is about a village that's stuck in a time loop and the main character (a young girl) dies horrible death due to some destiny stuff.

Really bloody. There was a hatchet and baseball bat duel. Junk yard. Twins with green hair.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai

Freaky as hell, but pretty damned good. That's definitely the one you are looking for.

*edit* I should note that one you are referring to is the second season. First season is just Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni.

That is the only bloody-as-hell anime I've willingly sat through because it was amazing. It gave me nightmares, though.

The first season is horrendously violent though, so if you saw something from the second season and thought it was bloody.. well.. the first season is much tougher, so brace yourself.

Just an aside; if you liked Higurashi you can try Umineko which is by the same group and the violence can be a little absurd as well. And fair warning, don't watch the newest OVA for Higurashi that came out a little while ago. It's terrible - just a ton of fanservice, even the opening is terrible.

Honestly the 1st and 2nd season is all blurred together in my mind. I only recall that the hatchet and baseball bat are like...things of importance.

I'm not sure if they're of big significance (it's been a while since Ive seen them), but they're just murder weapons really, and they're used almost exclusively in the show by particular characters. The guy, Keiichi (edit - 2 i's) I think it was spelled, uses the bat, rena the hatchet. There's also a hand gun, traps, needles and a taser that are used exclusively by other characters as well.

Actually, now that I think about it - the bat did have significance to one of the characters that went missing in the show. But that's really all I can remember.

I didn't actually know there was a new OVA.. the story was pretty much resolved.

Yeah. It's called Kira. It basically jumped the bandwagon of anime that airs now-a-days and is all about moe and fanservice. They even diverted from that eerie opening sequences sung by Eiko Shimamiya, and instead opted for a more j-pop oriented opening.

It's bad. I think there's supposed to be more episodes of the OVA but I don't even think I finished the first episode (that or I can't remember it because it was that bad).
