Here is a newspaper article about TopatoCo & webcomics with some extra focus on JJ!

Like many of his peers, Jacques began his strip as a hobby in 2003, shortly after graduating from Hampshire College. "I was inspired by a lot of the (early webcomics) like Penny Arcade and Diesel Sweeties, and I thought, 'Hey, this looks like something I can do.'"

man, that kid had it all. his room looked like a showbiz pizza place had given birth to it. his parents never, ever came in. he played wearing sunglasses while wearing a power glove (even though he also used the controller! just like you and me!)

ah man, what a life, he probably ate only shaped pasta

and remember the kid in the ad for the wireless nes controller? oh man. how i wished i was kid remote, freed from the tyranny of wires and not-wearing-a-members-only-jacket

Once, I won a metal Cobalt Flux DDR pad in a DDR tournament, along with a substantial cash prize.

It was hell, trying to transport it myself back home on the bus and the subway.

Then onward I'll be raking a sweet $100 a day. It could work! My first throwaway webcomic project is called My Cat Looks Like Wilford Brimley. It's a journal comic.

The site can be restored but that doesn't erase the perception created in fans by a change as drastic as that
