In my experience, being drunk well generate one of the 3 traits listed above.

Excellent, you've passed the classy crab on new pages inspection.

    Carry on, gents.

Also, you should get Human Revolution for sure, @Kadoken. I didn't enjoy it as much as most people did, but I still had a real blast with it.

DE:HR is getting to the tempting price-point but I do believe I can hold off for summer or winter even though I just finished DE:GOTY which was a condition of mine before considering HR. FPS back-log still has a number of titles to knock off it and by summer or winter it may be to the 5 dollar price point. Yay backlog money savings.

Not to be rude, but ...
Check your guys' stats and if you are blessed with anyone with a high throwing skill off the bat, invest in grenades. Cheap, powerful and you don't have to be too accurate. Everyone else should bring standard rifles, or strength permitting, heavy cannons. Research armor and plasma weapons when you can. Motion tracker is worthless, as are most laser weapons, but I usually research laser pistol as a early-mid game back up weapon, in case you run out of plasma ammo. And don't mess with terror sites early on unless you're really confident in your tech and squad. You're better off just landing and immediately retreating. You get the points for "trying" instead of just ignoring it and letting them establish a base.

This is so much bad advice. :D

Grenades are good, but it doesn't take a high throwing skill to use them because, as mentioned, you don't even have to be particularly accurate to get your taget. Give them to *everyone*. Bring flares if you'll be fighting at night, and toss them out liberally.

Heavy Cannons suck; autocannons do everything they do, but better.

Motion Trackers are invaluable for figuring out where the aliens are in a crashed spaceship or building before you open the door and get everyone killed.

Laser weapons are damn accurate, fast firing, cheap to mass-produce, and have unlimited ammo. They'll be your mainstay rifle for a large part of the game, and laser pistols are excellent sidearms for the people running around with heavy weapons (autocannons and rocket-launchers). You won't have enough heavy plasma for a long, long time to outfit everyone with that.

Terror sites are not *that* bad, but yes, an immediate dustoff is better for your score than not responding at all, but unless you're getting mind-screwed (or eaten), you can succeed at them. Just don't try to do it at night.

Why would you WANT to clear terror missions at night? There is no benefit, only pain awaits at nighttime terror missions.

I can't afford to be buying a managerial sim game right now with assassins creed brotherhood up next for completion. Finished 2 last night and wanna see what brotherhood holds in store.

That said, I don't wanna overdo it with the series either...... AAAAARGH! Can't believe I'm contemplating this.

It's not like I wanted to, but every time I tried to wait until it was daylight at a terror mission site, by the time it was morning the ship had left, I would usually just land, scout a bit and bail if the aliens were too strong.

Oh man. Borderlands is on sale. Steam is doing it again.

Is anyone up for going in on a 4 pack? or should I just spend the couple extra bucks for the GOTY. How's the DLC? Worth it?

edit: oh man, even the GOTY has a 4 pack deal. And apparently it's 2K games week.

Thanks captaink, I admit to having followed the thread for a while, and apparently it's "one or two patches" from release status. I have no doubt that it will eventually be a good game, and 8 bucks is a good price point that we probably will not see undercut by Steam unless it comes up as $5 during the summer/winter sales.

The DLC is great, and Knoxx is one of the pinnacles of "This is how you do DLC right."

I can gush about Borderlands for days. It came almost out of nowhere, was a completely original IP, had fantastic shooting and loot, and aside from a few flaws in the execution it got the most hours of playtime from me of any game in the last three years that wasn't an RPG, and was a complete blast to play co-op multiplayer with 3 buddies.

How the hell is Prototype still $30. Insanity.

Yeah, Borderlands is great fun with other people. I found it so-so by myself. I've only played with 1 other person (we have a regular Sunday game going), but even just that is so much fun.

I liked it on 360, but I couldn't stand it when I rented it. Apparently game devs nowadays love HD tvs and hate older CRT's. With my monitor, I'm sure I could actually play it, and read text. That is the greatest offender in my opinion. Let us gamers that have older tv's be able to make text bigger.

Prototype is basically just a reskin of Hulk Ultimate Destruction but that's the exact reason I love it, that and running up a building dressed as a granny

it's £7.49 in UK so anyone that wants it is probably best going through somebody over here

Don't buy anything yet! Pretty much everything 2K is 50% off right now. This is just like the summer/winter sales. Everything is partially discounted with the chance of being a daily super discount. Wait until Sunday afternoon/Monday morning.

I haven't done the dlc yet so I would be fine with starting up a new character for a fresh play-through. Add me on steam if your interested (if your not on the list already:) .. if you are just drop me a msg.).
