Obviously the length of the first playthrough depends, but I was just wondering what a rough estimate of time it was. Can you finish it in one sitting?

Yes you can easily finish it in one sitting, I'd estimate your first playthrough at between 1 and 2 hours.

Oh definitely.
I want to put my run through time as 2 hours? Maybe a bit more/less?

Read a little bit about this. So you can meet up with other players online for a bit, but you don't know anything about them before you go your separate ways?

But there's always more people to meet. That's the way the wheel in the sky keeps on turning.

Yes, other players can appear in your game, but you can only communicate through chirps and tones, so you can't tell who the person is while you're playing together.
Roy Ascott imagined an era of art in which the lines of telecommunication were both the medium and the message, and in which stories emerged from telepresence. Journey is the modern commercial realisation of that. But the wonderful thing is, you don't have to think about any of this as you are sliding down a great sand dune, interweaving with a stranger, intermittently bouncing sound icons between each other; and, of course, you don't have to think about art when you look at an amazing painting by Titian, or Monet or Picasso. Whatever you feel is the most important thing. That isn't pretentious, that's sort of beautiful.

the length was perfect, like everything else about it
I thought it was exquisitely paced, actually
nah it was exactly like flower
good, but short
left me wanting more
But I'm also afraid of ruining the experience for new players since I know how to avoid the colossi so easily so maybe I should stop
That's what she said

Wait. Is this some sort of Shadow of the Colossus-esque game!?
SIGN ME UP.
Someone please tell me about this.
I was hoping that this thread was actually going to be a journey thread
that it is not makes me sad
Yeah I agree. It was excellently paced. Not to say I wouldn't have loved more Journey, but I'm more than content with how much we got.
Plus it's really short so I might wait for a sale.
very slightly more than the cost of a shorter movie
I'm almost toying with the idea of getting a tattoo of my character's symbol from my first playthrough.
Really not too sure about that, though.
you don't have to fight the feelin'

This game's a work of art, honestly.
Oh definitely.

my baby's dreamin'
it's more than a feelin'
Anyway you want it
I will probably buy it tonight
I would easily pay $10 more for it if it DID actually play "Don't Stop Believin'" over the ending credits (or at any point during the game, really)

Considering I spend nearly the entire game with the same player, mine was fairly small.
holy shit this is the best post
STEAM!
Convince me that's not just some useless, flowery platitude.
