I don't know. I kind of remember seeing graphs that showed that Gerstmanngate had basically no effect on GameSpot's traffic.

I always thought it was weird that Jeff Gerstman was made into a martyr, because, prior to his firing, he wasn't exactly a well liked reviewer. He was more like Matt Cassassassammassamaspeia instead, where lots of people disliked his views.

I personally didn't care about Gerstman, but I cared about the circumstances of his termination. I haven't visited Gamespot since the whole thing went down because of it.

Found the December 2007 episode of On the Spot that immediately followed Gerstmann's firing:

I couple seconds into that video I bust out laughing. I immediatly looked at the faces to see who was to be Giantbomb crew and saw Brad just as it looked like he farted or something. He had the most stone cold awkward stance of hoping no one smelt it as man below him wept for his friend.

During the Syndicate Quick Look, he called it a good game pretty early and I was shocked. Not because of the game (I know nothing about it) but because he had been positive right away. I just think he is a bit negative and never really goes for hype.

I always liked angry Jeff. They talked about DNF on an episode of On The Spot years ago and listening to him rage about it was fantastic.
Edit: It was HotSpot I guess, there is youtube of it
