Man, I really, really love MegaTen. Been a fan for almost 3 years now with Nocturne being my absolute favorite and have a huge interest in older titles.
I've tried many of them, like Majin Tensei, "If...", MegaTen Gaiden (which I also own) and the highly regarded (by the japanese) Megami Tensei II.
I hope we will also get (at least a fan translated) english versions of those games. I know very little japanese, so it makes it hard to play through them.
Finally got around to powering trough the final day of DS2.
And holy shit the daichi ending is depressing. You don't restore anything of the world, just turn the consumed parts into water, meaning the world is essentially covered in water with some tiny landmasses at the 3 locations you access in the game. I actually thought you could restore the world after murdering polaris, but I suppose that's my bad for thinking what I assume is the "bad" ending to have any saving graces :P.

So how ridiculously long will this patch take to make?
It will be worth the wait. This game is insane in japanese.
Hmmm, 3rd dungeon, yiiikes.

So apparently Sentai announced at Anime Boston that they got the original cast to dub the Persona 4 anime. Hoping there's a confirmation soon, but I'm stoked if it's true.

Sentai means it'll be way pricier then Funimation or Viz doing it, bit the quality will still be good. I just hope they release it in Blu-ray as they only do for about half their released.
NISA sadly doesn't sub, and ar expensive, but their premium packs are great.
Aniplex USA is the only one that goes into complete fucking ripoff I'm not fucking paying you that insane amount even to by my favorite series' ever. Fuck you I'll burn my own blu-ray rips then pay $200-1000 for a series.

Daichi actually has two routes. One where the world keeps going on after the destruction, and one where everything is reset.
He even has a "true" path where if you have everyone not in his path by default at Rank 4, they'll all join you. Except for the Anguished One, anyway.

Oh, guess I fucked up somewhere and made it to continue instead of restore. Suppose I shouldn't have been so gung ho about killing polaris. How the heck do you get everyone to 4 anyway? Gotta be careful about which events you do?
And the titles you get for finishing the game, are they cumulative? as in, will you keep the old ones for the next ng+ etc?

Pretty much just plan it out well. You can actually, technically, do everything including the optional Dera Deka events and get everyone to 4+, but you need to ignore the non-mandatory AO events (since he won't be joining you anyway)
If you manage to get all the characters to Rank 4 and have them join you and then do the non-kill Polaris route you'll get an expanded ending. You'll get the trophy for getting everyone to join you for Daichi's route no matter which ending you do, but the expanded ending is only for the reset route.
Also, I assume the points are cumulative, but I've only beaten it once so I can't say for sure. Considering how much some stuff costs, it would make sense for them to carry over, though.
So I decided, with a heavy heart, to select Yuzu's route even though I had unlocked Naoya's, Gin's, and Amane's. I was most interested in doing Amane's, but I wasn't convinced I would succeed.
Yuzu's day 7-8 is much, much worse than I expected. Jesus Christ. I'm only at like 10:30 on Day 8 and I find it difficult to go on.

Honestly at the ending, the developers should have just left you a message calling you a big pussy.
In a full failure run DS tells you how terrible you are at some point.
The game literally tells you "you are too bad to take part in this, go away".
I imagine the failure routes 8th day must be utterly soul crushing. God damn. Now I want ds overclocked, always liked the concept on that ending overall.
I really like the Megaten series, I started with Persona 3 FES, but I have played other SMT games. Mainly Nocturne and Devil Survivor. Really not looking forward to replaying Devil Survivor another 5-7 times for all of the endings, I got Yuzu's on my first ending my accident and then I did Naoya's. Naoya's will probably be my favorite ending.
I'm loving Nocturne, I'm just stuck in Ikebukuro Prison, damn messed up creepy prison.

To be honest, it's really not that long to replay the game that many times, thanks to the demons that carry over NG+. Besides, you can skip the text by pressing L+R.
I got every ending during last summer and it was totally worth it. Now, if only I could beat Lucifer.
The grind in DS1 is just too silly to beat the optional boss. The theory behind beating him is rather simple, it's just that the structure of the game makes it a pain to get the needed levels.
Just fought the post game boss of day 4, holy shit.
Lilith does not fuck around. She has a legion of high level minions that can heal her very rapidly, and you're not allowed to kill any of them. I decided to blitz across the battle field with devil speed and phantasm. Then you fight Lilith herself: 2 actions per turn, anti-all, anti-almighty, temptation auto skill (Charms everyone in your party). Has weak kill and Megidalaon, and is not shy about doing 600-700 damage to your whole team per turn. Took her down, but it was a pretty near thing.

Does it become much grindier after level 73? My MC is L73 on my first playthrough. I can't imagine it's that grindy once the EXP cap is removed.

In normal version exp cap is never removed as far as I know. Perhaps they added that for overclocked.
If it is, then just decide on recarm or tyrant strat, take the right path/build correctly and it should be pretty fast.
Did you do any of the optional boss fights at the end of DDS1?
Not really much, to be honest.
You'll get something for each of the optional bosses you take out (I think). You also get to carry over some money, so if you have macca left over at the end of the game you'll get a macca boost in the second one.

There's also choices you make during DDS1 that determine who you get at DDS2's endgame:
Heat or Roland.
And yeah, later on certain NPCs will give you accessories if you killed any of the optional bosses. They're all possible on the first cycle except for Hitoshura.

Your party members also get stat bonuses based on the Mantras they mastered in DDS1, which is pretty neat. Importing also unlocks Hard mode, which you normally have to beat the game to unlock, and is the only way you can fight DDS2's uberboss.

Actually, in vanilla the restriction is always removed in NG+.

Level 65, no ultimate Personae besides Artemis and Baofu's. Broken much?
Oh, it was a war of attrition, make no mistake, but he could barely scratch Maya except with Photon Cannon.
Friendliest ultra boss ever.
Final Time: 15:55:36, Rank A.
Nyarlathotep's is the best.
'Guido' 's was great too.
Could... Could I use this for my answering machine?...
Find the character that best counters Elizabeth.
Get good with them.
Make CJ sad.
Edit: There's Astral Finishes in this game?!

Unless I import it.
The free battles right before the final boss are terrible, and I'd love to fuse 2-3 more fancy demons for my coming runs.
I've tried many of them, like Majin Tensei, "If...", MegaTen Gaiden (which I also own) and the highly regarded (by the japanese) Megami Tensei II.

Question: what kind of in-game bonuses can I get if I carry over my DDS1 save?

Oh. Then the grind is still boring, as the only free battles available has rather low level demons.
I well and truly hate grinding though, so might be easy for others.
