A lot of us here love animation, but I've found that a lot of time the discussion is limited to American and Japanese cartoons
This thread is intended to redress that inadequacy
Please use it to talk about your favorite animation from outside those countries
There's a good chance the rest of us might not have heard of it and will discover something new to enjoy!

I'll get the ball rolling with Russian (or, more accurately, Soviet) animation, which I grew up with and am very fond of. Because Soviet animation studios were supported by the government, they were able to operate without recourse to the profit motive. As a result, they produced many incredibly original and beautiful. Cartoons from the most fruitful period of the 1960s and 1970s are still beloved today and a part of Russian culture. Here are some of my favorites, with english subtitles where possible.
Nu, Pogodi! / Ну, погоди! (You Just Wait!)

Nu, Pogodi is probably the most accessible series to a Western audience, as very little is said. Operating on a Tom & Jerry dynamic, the cartoon follows the misadventures of the Wolf (Volk) as he attempts to catch and eat the Hare (Zayats).

My all-time favorite. Based on the fairy tale, the Russian version is a musical that melds together the traditional elements of the story with modern influences to create something really magical.

A great example of stop-motion animation. Cheburashka is a small furry creature who accidentally ends up in Russia, where he befriends and goes on adventures with a crocodile named Gena.

my cousins 3 young daughters are half hungarian so i've been exposed to a lot of foreign cartoons
Aardman Animations are something of a national treasure, their clean, clever stories and attention to detail are something that I imagine most Brits here grew up with!
I'm getting a bit sentimental.
I expected this to be a lot better. I watched it and was kinda let down because everyone kept saying how it was the most amazing fucking thing ever

I love it when you can hear the Clangers say "oh bugger it".
I saw this in a theatre at a French Film Festival
