On my network map, it shows an unknown between me and my router. Should I be worried? It is a wireless connection.

Is this the windows network map? Because that thing is pretty terrible and uninformative in general, and might just be screwing with you.

Furthermore, what's your wireless setup like? Are you broadcasting your SSID? Is it password-protected? What kind of encryption do you use? If you plug into the router directly, do you still see an unknown entity between the router and your machine?

Yah windows network map is more "for entertainment purposes only" than an actual tool. Shit at my house out network is Internet->gateway->core switch->everything else, windows sees it as internet->gateway->our media server->unknown->my pc, with everything else listed off the map.
