Trying to switch a friend's computer from Spanish to English.

I've a friend down in Mexico who is trying to get her computer to go from Spanish to English. She has Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit which according to Google can, in fact, change the OS language. We tried the first way of going to Windows Update to get the language packs, but they didn't show. Supposedly because SP1 is installed that somehow goofs Windows Update up as far as showing the language packs. Anyhow, I found a few sites that have direct links to download them, which we (both) did. I have no trouble installing both the 32 and 64 bit packs, while her computer refuses to install the same 32 bit pack saying it is 'invalid'.

I have absolutely no idea what to do here and could use some help!

Is the copy of windows ultimate a legitimate copy, with a license and a disc lying around?

If so... might be worth a reinstall. Sounds like something is broken.

I'm not sure, I'll have to ask her. Also when I say 'Invalid' I mean the thing reports it's an invalid Win32 application. Since I'm able to run it, that's just really bizarre.

    Was the file name?

I have no idea about the legit-ness of the side but I found this

Seems like there is another page for language packs for sp1.

That was the one, yeah. I'll have her try the other one and see how that goes.

Apparently that link can violate EULAs on non ultimate versions according to some people. Be weary. I found the previous link in my searching though, which appears to be the right place.
