    wow I'm in too now.
great value for a hundred bucks
    from the site
    71 figures in the base set + 3 promo figures + 3 promo zombies + 2 Fatties + 1 Abomination +
    6 runners and 2 Fatties + 20 Walkers = 108 miniatures!
    6 custom black dice
6 glow in the dark dice
    1 T-shirt
    1 signed lithograph
    1 additional scenario (downloadable)
oh wait the 20 extra walkers is only if the reach the final goal. but still that's a lot.

Unlike video game Kickstarters, board game Kickstarters seem to see their biggest push in the last days so it'll easily hit all its goals most likely.

Then you are in luck! It is a 1-6 player game. =p

I spent $140 because I am weak and really wanted the extra figures. I'm sure this will be big at PAX since it launches the same month and Cardboard Tube is all up in it.

Man, I wish international shipping and import duties weren't such a thing with Kickstarter.

This seems to have very little information about international shipping attached to it - is it even an option?

  • AccualtAccualt Registered User regular
It is kind of buried in there.
Important note: For non-continental USA pledges, please add an additional $25 for shipping, and an additional $15 per box for shipping after the first box.

The Abomination level is seriously tempting me. $125 for the boardgame and a pile of swag...

So, out of curiosity, is that Machete rip-off something that could land them in legal trouble? I imagine it's just as bad as say, ripping off Spiderman.

Edit: I sent them a message on the site. I'd hate for them to lose all that money on legal defense when Fox smells an easy settlement.

A couple of their figures are based on other characters. The last goal ($700,000) includes a 'not quite Bruce Campbell from Evil Dead' (has Boomstick, does not have chainsaw hand).

And another is obviously patterned after Samuel L Jackson. I have a feeling the cop is essentially Bruce Willis/John Mclean, etc.

Right, and there's a Chuck Norris. But the exact clothing, tattoo on the arm, scars, etc., are more unique to Machete than a black guy in a suit is unique to Pulp Fiction.

I considered this. It's a reasonable price for that many quality pieces and the minis look really good, but doesn't move / roll / kill zombo / get equipment card / find objective to win sound familiar to anyone? The gameplay looks really similar to ZOMBIES!, just gussied up with pretty arts.

    e: ZOMBIES! is not good

Maybe it's made by people who played ZOMBIES! and thought "Mmm... This game sucks. Let's make it better!" and Zombicide was born.

This looks awesome. I'll probably wait until it releases, since they already have their kickstarter goal.

Edit: When do they plan to release this? I have no idea how long this sorts of things take? End of the year? Beginning of next?

All the goals have September 2012 listed as the expected delivery. Also, you can't fund them anymore, but the abomination level ($100) was a ridiculous deal for the figures sent out. I sadly, do not get paid until tomorrow, so I'm on the outside looking in on that.
