I play a lot as Young Link, but I figure Celda Link will be a clone character. The other old characters I never really cared for. Bowser Jr. seems moderately interesting but Ridley really catches the eye. Isn't he huge? Like...huge? Maybe I'm just not remembering his size right. I remember huge-ness. Huge amounts of it, in fact.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Who are you still waiting for (Sonic, c'mon Sonic)?

I know it seems kinda stupid, but subtracting characters sucks. I say keep piling them on.

I'm not opposed to the characters, it's just dumb when they have the same moves except so and so's is faster or does more damage or has more purple sparks.
So far it looks promising though, I'm really looking forward to this game although Game and Watch was totally badass (and unique) and should not have been cut.
Link.....such a contrast from all the other characters in the game, a bit odd looking I would think, but still a nice change of pace from young Link. Mirror shield (blind opponents?), grappling rope (twirl and lasso opponents), Leaf (float when in air/blow opponents when grounded), ice/fire arrows for a change?
I always hated Bowser Jr. Where's the damn Koopa Kids, you assholes? Lemmy? Sunnavabitch.

Though they'll probably just fuck with the character to make it playable.

I whole heartedly agree. The fact that that whiny little bitch has taken the place of our beloved Koopa Kids is one of the greatest injustices in this world of ours. Although, the Koopa Kids did make an appearance in one of the handheld Mario and Luigi RPG games, didn't they? Does that mean they aren't dead?

It would make no goddamn sense for them to take out Young Link and leave in Pichu.
Really, if I had to have a "characters to cut" list, Pichu would be at the top.
There's nothing like taking out someone in MK: DD with a backwards fired Bowser shield while riding the toadkart. (Bowser jr. + Koopa Troopa = WIN) That annoying laugh of his afterwards is just perfect.
They could do a lot of neat stuff with him. Like he could start out not that great, but the more damage he takes the more Pikmin come to his aid and the more powerful his attacks get.
Or it could be the other way around.
I'm sure Nintendo would love to readd the Koopa Kids to Smash if Mario, in all his carnivorous fury, didn't eat every one of them after their inevitable defeat. Oh yes, there was a KK Buffet, and BBQ sauce drenched their very souls. "What do Koopa Kids even taste like?" you ask. Well, a lot like chicken apparently.
