- What's Romney's recovery plan?
- Jobs reports holding steady, numbers so-so.
- Santorum reaching out to Romney? Or still just a surly wiener?
- DNC to GOP, Koch Bros: Come at me, bros!
- Jon McNaughton: Greatest Artist of Our Generation? Or Greatest Artist Ever?
This is the kind of world that we have with "President" Obama. A world without a Liberty Rooster.

So I don't know how many watch PBS Newshour but they ran this little segment.
Looks like it's not just guests on the TDS who are saying the GOP is a huge part of the problem with our government being dysfunctional. I'm curious to see if we're going to getting a growing chorus of people echoing those sentiments across the airwaves soon. I'd say we're getting close to the point of the GOP being sent to the political wilderness soon, the only question is how much will that factor into Romney's performance this fall.

Well we could define Soon™ in the terms that Blizzard does. Perhaps we've moved to Soon Soon™ now in regards to the GOP banishment.
My point is that can't be a good thing when PBS is giving air time to people who openly say "It's the GOP's fault," and know full well that that phrase or some variation of it will be said during the segment. Obviously, it would be more damning if it came from the Shields during his segment on PBS or even Fauxnews, but baby steps.
The current course of action isn't fine, but Romney's being an idiot here.
The things Romney wants to do would not bring any of his stated goals.
Also, the current course of action is basically hamstrung by Republican douchebaggery. They refuse to do the things we need to do.
Yeah, and I think the long and drawn-out vetting process has slowly brought people around to the realization that Romney's economic plans are pretty irresponsible, not to mention flat-out illogical.
1. Lower corporate taxes.
2. Increase corporate revenues.
3. ???
4. Everyone has jobs!

Yeah, it's pretty insane.
Also the Ryan budget creates a bigger deficit than Obama's.
Yeah, no one's going to report that. Ryan is a sensible centrist with unimpeachable academic credentials. Also he's hot and works out everyday and has dreamy eyes that look into my soul.
/Washington journalist
I made up exactly one part of that description, the rest is straight quotes from pieces in either the New York Times, Time Magazine, or the Washington Post.
The idea that your vote is a moral statement about you or who you vote for is some backwards ass libertarian nonsense. Your vote is about society. Vote to protect the vulnerable.

I don't need people reporting it. I need Obama's campaign using it. If they don't, they deserve to lose.

I think the NYT reported it. Possibly the Krugster.
The Ryan plan could very well end up hurting the GOP this fall. It really depends on how hardball the honest Christian groups, that do have influence, decide to be about it. If they really come out against it, as vocally as, they can about it being very unchristian, that could really eat into GOP support since that would put all the ignorant Christians of convenience on the spot.
Here's something crazy: why are liberals in government afraid of the wealth redistribution label?
Yes I do fucking want it redistributed downward, it's the only sensible thing to do given where this is heading.
It just doesn't play well to anyone, really. Nobody likes the idea of the money they work for being given to others, and in this case the only bloc supporting these policies are likely to be the ones receiving the money, so it's definitely a conflict of interest.
It's not an abhorrent practice, but the approach needs some lubricating.

Umm, people have been taking Ryan to task for over a year and its really been heating up since he came back with an even crazier budget a few months ago.
And then the Times wrote another glowing article about him.
I was wrong though, his eyes are piercing, not dreamy.

The crazier one is the one that creates a bigger deficit. And is the one Romney endorsed.
So.
Well done, GOP.
I almost hop he's the Veep pick.
I want to see Biden tear him apart.

The entire wealth redistribution debate is a straw man anyway. I've never heard a mainstream liberal actually say they want to take rich peoples money. They want rich people and corporations to pay their fair share in fucking taxes. If that's "wealth redistribution", well, okay?
...Getting a BA from a backwater university is now considered 'unimpeachable academic credentials'?
Our media's academic credentials is roughly graduating from an elementary school in Alabama, soooo

All taxes are the government stealing your money, remember.
Except poor people taxes. That's them "paying their fair share."

Seriously? Where's the public shame for all these people who don't want to pay what they should for living in a first world country?
There's a George Washington quote that sums it up quite nicely, but I'm too tired to go looking for it.
But expect a longer response after I get some sleep which will include it.

People who tell you Ryan has "unimpeachable academic credentials" are the same people who will poopoo all over Obama's degrees from Columbia and Harvard, and talk about how he's the "intellectual elite".
So basically, if you go down to your local community college, you are getting some edumication, but if you go to a top tier school and graduate with good grades, you're the "intellectual elite"...as if being intellectually elite is a bad trait.

Well I went to a backwater undergrad and an ivory tower grad school.
Win-win-win.

No if you go to a local community college you are being indoctrinated by liberal snobs who want to keep you from doing an honest American job plumbering or haberdashery.
Umm, people have been taking Ryan to task for over a year and its really been heating up since he came back with an even crazier budget a few months ago.
People are calling BS on his budget, but no one seems to be raising hell over it in a manner that the media can't ignore. The Catholic Church should be making a bigger deal over this than they did with the whole birth control thing.

I'm of the opening that the best way to deal with this is to provide proof that a sizable chunk of wealth that the rich currently enjoy can be attributed to certain tax funded endeavors. I think progressives have done a terrible job in this area, every time the rich assholes says "I don't benefit from taxes, the gub'ment is stealing my money," just pull up the laundry list of tax funded items and list off how each one has contributes to that asshole getting wealthy (or wealthier).

The very architect of the economic policy Ryan used to create his budget (who's name escapes me), testified to congress either today or yesterday, that Ryan's budget was a joke and wouldn't work. In fact, it would cause irreparable damage to the nations economy.

We thought that after 2008 too.

Sounds like a good budget to me.
