Circuit City does that "buy online and pick up in the store". The difference is, you've already paid for it (online) when you get to the store.
They also sometimes have higher prices for stuff in-store. Which is stupid, because once the salesdroid just told me to go use the DSL demo kiosk, go on the CC web site, order the item and pay for it etc.. then "pick-up in store". Stupid, but again, perfectly legal...

Or what if I buy something online for $100, choose in store pick-up, then when I get to the store they say "nuh-uh you still owe us $20 see look at the website that must have been a glitch"
In store pickup doesn't change the fact that you ordered it online so you get the online price. There can be a number of justifications for charging a higher price in-store versus online. In the scenario you mention, the cost to BB is still probably lower if you select in store pickup because they don't need to keep as much inventory on site for each store but can instead ship product out real time in response to the item that you ordered. There are so many hidden costs that you people don't take into account and having to store inventory is a significant expense and is why many businesses have become more successful by implementing just-in-time processing of orders where they can get the product you want very quickly when you order it instead of having a bunch of the product sitting in warehouses costing them money.
Working weddings is a great way to hook up with some drunk, desperate wimmens.
Getting paid is always a pain in the ass though I agree. It's always the fucking rich assholes who are spending $30,000 on flowers and shit that always want a discount. "Oh, you didn't get a picture of the groom's friend's third-cousin's former roomate, give me $200 off!!".
Well, them, and the jews.
