So I'm about to launch my surround display (my sig is somewhat premature, but then, so am I, tish-boom)
How much VRAM do you actually need for smooth surround? I'm going to be running 2D surround with 1.5GB of VRAM on each GPU.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i7 2600k, SLI GTX 580, 8GB RAM, 5760x1080 =D

Obviously, more VRAM is always better when you're talking about the kinds of resolutions you get with 3 1080p monitors. If you haven't already bought the 580s...well if you haven't bought them yet you should probably just get a couple 670s/680s.
Failing that, though, I run a high resolution monitor (2560x1600) with SLI 580s and have never had any issues. It's difficult to offer a firm answer, because so few reviews I've seen cover multi-monitor gaming. Depending on the game, and the settings you like to run at, I don't think you should have many issues. SLI'd standard 580s still push a lot of pixels.
