Summary:
20 gig ps3s are listed as being discontinued. Thinking about it, I didn't see a single 20 gig ps3 at bestbuy or gamestop when I went the other day. They had literally 40, 60 gig ps3s, but not a single 20 gig ps3.
Has anyone else seen a 20 gig ps3 in the wild recently?

For some reason I thought this was an iPod thread.

I seem to think I saw a 20 gig PS3 not too long ago at best buy, but I could be imagining things.

That would certainly be a good assumption.

I didn't have that hard of a time finding my 20 gig, but I know they are not very common. Personally, I think the 20 gig PS3 is very viable if you don't need wi-fi.

Agreed, but the 20 gig probably should have been that one version.

I checked our inventory system today. We cut a fresh PO for 20GB systems on Monday. It is not discontinued.

I mean, the big argument was "it's not that much more expensive since the $500 PS3 is as fully featured as the $400 X360" and that just went down the shitter.

On the other hand, I see why this happened, as I've heard that Sony loses something like eighty dollars less on the $600 model than on the $500.

I think they said something along the lines of "This thing costs $1000 after the exchange rate and you're going to buy it anyway because we're Sony and we wear the pants around here, now make me a goddamn sandwich." Don't remember the exact quote.

I can't shake the feeling almost 95% of X and Y have been hashed out already in the previous PS3 threads, and Z is pretty much a nonstarter that at its best will regurgitate substantial portions of X or Y.

So I guess I didn't mean to imply moderatorial direction (I concede I clearly did imply it) but instead only offer this: Sony, what more can you really say at this point?
