[RECRUITING] [DND 4e PbP] The Serpent Swallows its Tail (2 Needed)
Established, hopefully long-term (probably slated to end in the teens?) 2nd Level Game recruiting 2 players. One Leader, One (other, the group has asked for a melee type).
We have a Warlock, Paladin, and Wizard. I'd like to see 1 post a day minimum, but I totally understand that stuff happens, so don't fear if occasionally something comes up.
Weekends aren't expected.
I'll keep the recruiting open until End of Day Friday if we have enough interest shown. If not, I'll leave it open until the end of the weekend (since I don't hold people to weekend posting)
The town of Loudwater sits at the confluence of the Delimbiyr and Grayflow rivers. The forested
shoulders of the Star Mounts rise above the town in the northwestern sky. These cloud-veiled peaks
remind the townspeople that beyond the town’s walls stretch wild lands, where deadly monsters threaten
the unwary.
Merchants, caravan guards, local craftsfolk, hunters, farmers, and retired adventurers treat the Green
Tankard Tavern in Loudwater as a second home. In the tavern’s common room, talk turns to tales of hostile
tribes and barrows glimpsed through mists; folk speak warily of goblins in the Southwood, of the serpent folk of
Najara, and of ancient, ruined kingdoms. The tavern attracts young and old with its warm company and tall tales.
But before buying an ale for one of the inn’s regulars, a visitor should think carefully. Many adventures have started
from stories exchanged over cheap ale and greasy food, but not all have ended with the glorious exploits of which bards sing.
An old story or a wrinkled map could be the doorway to adventure—or the path to a quick death
Setting:
Spoiler:
The setting will be Forgotten Realms, it is the 20th of Uktar (equivalent of November), and the cold air
already seems to be rolling down from the Graypeak mountains.
Loudwater is one of two towns bordering the monster dominated realm that is Naraja.
Settled at the far northwestern corner of the domain, it is the final civilized town before delving into the wilds.
Submissions:
Spoiler:
I will be accepting 2 characters of 2nd level, standard gold, no magic items.
One submission Per Player
22 Point Buy
No expertises for free.
Put your sheets on Oroyetkos or Myth-Weavers. We’ll be rolling using Orokos.
No races or classes are off limits, however monstrous races will face adversity.
I'd say stay away from cheese, but there's very little of it at this low-level.
I'll accept submissions until Friday night. If there are less than 4 submissions I will extend submissions to Sunday night since I don't require weekend posting.
I'd like 1-2 posts daily (weekdays) but I'm not going to be a Nazi about it.
If your posts slow down the progression of the game, I may "delay" your action on your behalf.
(This is the original posting, the campaign has shifted away from Loudwater towards a pass in the Greypeak Mountains (they're not there yet)
Fixed the post. I had been lazy and copied the original build post so you would understand point buy/no expertise. Not to trump previously stated 2nd level characters. I apologize.
Sounds pretty interesting! Here's my character, Half-Elven warlord, writing what he sees in his travels, Marloe Barius

Interesting, indeed. I'll try to pull something together if this is still available over the weekend. For a melee type, would your team fancy more of defender or a striker? Though I do fancy melee clerics, too...

Having ceremonially destroyed his birth weapon, Baden Bristlann fights tooth and nail until he is worthy of steel once more.

Presenting a Cosmic Sorcerer of the melee variety, Bael Ascoh.
Having come of age and proven himself a capable fighter and healer, Varis Sidereal leaves his remote village for the first time, wondering where his Goddess will lead him next.
Okay, so at this point, I'm going to cut the recruiting. We've got
Keetah the Mad by Nealneal - Goblin Shaman of the World Spirit
Marloe Barius by Deerpoob - Half Elven Warlord
Baden Bristlann by Grog - Human Barbarian of Fisticuffs
Bael Ascoh by Dresdenphile - Cosmic Melee Sorcerer
Varis Sidereal by DaMoonRulz - Wayward Half-Elven Warpriest
Connor Fairlad by GunnerMaddog - Half Elven Bard limerickmeister
Nullzone, and Bhow (and anyone else who stated interest that I may have missed) you can also submit whatever character you wound like before Sunday evening.
One last thing that I forgot to mention/answer with creation.
#1, you can use character themes if you'd like. However, I don't have new books, so just let me check it out and ok it.
#2, items. You may have one of level 3, one of level 2, one of level 1, and 360 gp. Seems I've been fairly stingy with my characters
Updated Varis. One thing I was unsure of with the cloaked weapon, does it simply become invisible or does it hang out in a pocket dimension until the user calls for it?

Pah Wintair is a winter-themed Dwarven Warden who likes to get into the midst of a battle, and keep his enemies close (so they can't get to his allies).
This aged dwarf is brave as the wind, kindly as a storm. Decades of asceticism in the mountains have left him somewhat needful of society, yet untrained in its intricacies. By necessity self-reliant, he welcomes company, though may not realize when his own has become worn.
Long white hair flows from a polar bear head helm to mingle in the wind with Pah's untamed wind-whipped white beard. The Polar bear's white hide has been reworked into a flowing cape behind Pah's otherwise bare torso, with the bear's forelimbs attached to Pah's wrists as ersatz sleeves.
Pah's waist is garbed in a fringed kilt of the same hide, and his hirsute toes below are easily visible in all seasons, strapped to a pair of functional sandals. Several throwing hammers hanging at his belt are dwarfed by a massive crystalline War hammer, wedded to a wooden shaft.
I still need to add details of his powers to the sheet and select magic items, but this sheet should give you the quick and dirty. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm going to consult with the spirits, and I'll get back to you by Tuesday at the latest, possibly tomorrow.

It was a tough decision, there were quite a few good submissions.
If anyone else would like to be placed on reserve with the characters you've submitted, please let me know!
I'll finish the math on Myth-weavers and detail his powers, then watch for my entrance cue. Anything else I should work on?
Thanks for the opportunity!
Sure happy to be on the reserves.
Thanks for the recruiting post.
