On Friday, August 31st at 6:00pm, Queer Geek! presents a night of gayming fun at the new Gamma Ray Games Cafe! (I believe it's going to be called the Raygun Café, but not 100% on that.)
This will be pretty much right after the "Queers in Gaming" PAX Panel event, which those of you attending PAX will not want to miss.
Then, afterward, come to the party! You DO NOT need to be a PAX attendee to join in the fun! Party-goers are encouraged to bring their friends, favorite board games, card games or handhelds.
It's a great way to meet, greet and compete!

I hope the meetup is on Friday or Saturday night so we can make friends then actually hang out during PAX. Sunday means you'll meet a bunch of new friends that you only get a few hours with before they are on their way home the next day. :-(
Also I hear there will be another GLBT themed panel this year, if a meeting doesn't materialize, then hopefully we can meet there.

I think Friday evening / night is ideal. Something ending around 9 or 10pm would be nice so the people that want to make it to the concerts can go to those while the others head to the bars.
A suggestion for location: New gaming bar on Capitol Hill. Gamma Ray Games has been sponsoring a pre-PAX party at the Capitol Club for the last two years, but the owner is opening his own gaming bar in early August and I can talk to him about hosting this event.

Myself and Charlie Logan, the fellow who has organized the queer gaymer meetups in the past, are working on this year's meetup as we speak. We are indeed looking at the new gaming cafe on captiol hill as a venue. I'll let you all know once we have finalized all the details.

I have some details to share about the lgbtq gaymer meetup this year. Due to previous years' feedback, we will be having the meetup on the Friday night of PAX. We know this will compete with the concerts, but many people told us they wanted a pre pax meetup so that they could meet other Gaymers before the show so they could hang out with them over the weekend. We also picked Friday instead of Thursday to accommodate the people from out of town who might not be in town by Thursday night as well as avoiding conflict with the tri wizard pub crawl.. If this fills you with Internet rage, please let us know. We have done this based on feedback we've received, so if you have your own feedback we welcome it while things are still flexible.
The meetup will be taking place at a new gamer cafe that is being opened Capitol hill, the gayborhood of Seattle, only a ten to fifteen minute walk from the convention center. This cafe is being opened by Gamma Ray Games, a great local game store also on Capitol hill.
More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date. Fear not. We are all over this and it will be happening and it will be FABULOUS.

OMG. This made me tear up a little. I really hope you'll share photos and whatnot somewhere.
We'll definitely share some photos! Our plans have changed a little since the Washington same-sex marriage law has been pushed back to a vote in November. We'll be going to Iowa to get the legal ceremony done the weekend before PAX, then we'll be heading to Seattle for the PAX honeymoon! We also can't wait to meet some people at the LGBT meet-up!
