Stephen J. "Steve" Ditko[1] (born November 2, 1927)[2] is an American comic book artist and writer best known as the artist and co-creator, with Stan Lee, of the Marvel Comics heroes Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.

Ditko studied under Batman artist Jerry Robinson at the Cartoonist and Illustrators School in New York City. He began his professional career in 1953, working in the studio of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, beginning as an inker and coming under the influence of artist Mort Meskin. During this time, he then began his long association with Charlton Comics, where he did work in the genres of science fiction, horror, and mystery. He also co-created the superhero Captain Atom in 1960.

Ditko then drew for Atlas Comics, the 1950s forerunner of Marvel Comics. He went on to contribute much significant work to Marvel, including co-creating Spider-Man, who would become the company's flagship character. Additionally, he co-created the supernatural hero Doctor Strange and made important contributions to the Hulk and Iron Man. In 1966, after being the exclusive artist on The Amazing Spider-Man and the "Doctor Strange" feature in Strange Tales, Ditko left Marvel for reasons never specified.

Ditko then worked for Charlton and DC Comics, making major contributions, including a revamp of long-running character Blue Beetle, and creating or co-creating the Question, the Creeper, and Hawk and Dove. Ditko also began contributing to small independent publishers, where he created Mr. A, a hero reflecting the influence of Ayn Rand's Objectivism philosophy. Since the 1960s, Ditko has declined most interviews, stating that it is his work he offers readers, and not his personality.

    @Jacobkosh

I've got Lords Of Waterdeep and agree about the niftyness.

    And Steve Ditko rules!

As for 5e, I thought the best idea I heard about it is that it's a solution in search of a problem - they've decided 4e is wrong, so 5e is just 'not 4e' with no clear design goals except that.

It looks bloody awful. I would happily play Basic D&D again, and plan to with my daughter when she's old enough, coz it's simple and fun. But 5e? No way.

    I figure I could take a bear.

That is the most concise summary of it I've seen. It's an embarrassing mea culpa for the sin of daring to incorporate RPG design ideas from less than 20 years ago.

What I really like about Waterdeep is how the theme feels like it actually matters rather than being a tissue thin overlay atop abstract mechanics.

So, Final Fantasy XIII is the most racist shit since Jar Jar Binks.

Also totally full of weirdness. jRPGs are so nonsensical.

And one of the main characters appears to be Dick Casablancas.

This story makes no sense thus far. Apparently one particular Pulse Fal'Cie is the cause of all this stuff at the start according to the chapter description, but the actual story as presented demonstrates nothing of the sort.

It suffers worse than any other JRPGS I have seen from inappropriate affect. So much good natured cheering and childish declarations in the face of genocide(?) and weird laughing and happy cloud cuckoo-lander stuff in response to tragedy.

    Well. That is saddening.

I have decided the worst thing about FFXIII is that the loli is constantly making sex noises.

No, it's not! I felt like - hm - how do I put it? I got a quest called "build a temple to Oghma" so it involved recruiting priests - a lot of priests. That is simple, but it holds together as a concept. It makes sense. I feel like with some other wood-block type games, the rules feel really arbitrary. "If I'm farming, why do I send my products back to port in bizarre tetris configurations? Who knows!"

I saw a woman who was a dead ringer for my girlfriend driving down the road in a tiny red car with a baby.

I almost got ran down by a lorry because I was distracted.

    It's been an odd morning.
