how do I operate this

First pic, on/off and extra water are pretty straightforward. Spoelstop is something I don't know how to translate properly but it means you can press it and set a delay for your machine to start spinning your laundry, IIRC. Eco means you can do an eco friendly washing program but god knows how that'll work in practice. Centrifugeren omw/min is how many times it'll spin per minute. Temperature is next to that, and then programma is program which is probably going to be for different clothing types and all. No clue what kind of programs are gonna be on your machine.

I am now painfully aware that I too have no clue how to operate these things.

I'm not sure Kochi, I think all washing machines are tricky to get used to, and even trickier when its in a foreign language! You may have to go things by trial and error, I am sorry
