I got a slot at the LAN party I don't want to give up, thing is there is no way in the world short of overnight shipping I can get my 19" monitor to PAX with my luggage as I am flying. I thought about getting a flat screen between now and then but I would have to put down a lot of cash(more then I have) for something that is good enough to squeek by for gaming and suffering from paranoia over packing it so it doesn't get damaged. Friends of mine who are going to Quakecon in Texas told me that Quakecon solved that problem for those flying by renting out monitors. So the question is would someone rent me a decent monitor(17" is good enough for me) for the weekend, and if so how much? Would this be something the PAX can do or just someone coming that has a spare monitor or lives in the area and is willing to make some extra cash. You don't have to worry about me stealing it since I can't fly back with it.
I have a monitor, its nothing grandiose, its a 17" CRT one from co. Princeton. It doesnt have a stand but a few old MS manuals hold it up for me. Only thing I'd ask for is like 20 bucks to rent it out, but along with that I'd say a deposit, in case you decide to take it, but would you...I think not. I'm sure that if gabe sees this he could help you out though.

Buy a monitor, use it, then return it after the event. This is something a lot of people do for LANs when they're unable to travel with their monitor and shouldn't cost you anything.
I know there are a few PC shops near Maydenbauer Center, including a CompUSA located about two blocks away.
Yes Fall's idea could work, but I know I've had problems returning stuff to stores before so it's a gamble, but it's up to you, plus like Doctor K said, 100 bucks fro a 15" LCD, and I don't know, but it better be a pretty good one for 100 bucks a day.

Penguin, how much can I give you as a deposit? I think I can give you like $50 total($20 for the rental, $30 for the deposit). I have my 19" monitor at home, no way to get that one home, and I like money, so I will want the $30 back so if thats and okay deposit, let me know. I'm probably gonna just scrape by for money after paying for my friends plane tickets unless I can makes some extra money between now and then, so buying a monitor and returning it (especially considering I have no transportation in Seattle) is out of the question for me, but I did consider it. I can meet up with you there, give you my hotel room info, I'll be staying at the DoubleTree til Sunday(I fly out Sunday night at 11pm, so I probably will be leaving PAX around 8:30-9pm). If your going to be in the LAN room I can meet you there.

Here's an added incentive, you can use my machine anytime you want to play when I'm not there (which will be often I'll be in the table top room for several hours at least and the console room, etc.) Although, I'll nix the deposit if you do this instead. That way you have a machine to play on and don't have to worry about a free play machine or if you'll get a spot. I don't imagine I'll be on the machine more then 6-8 hours at a time at most, and if you want to play in a specific tourney let me know and I'll be "somewhere else" during that time. I might play CoD tourney but I don't have a team.
It's an Athlon 1800+ with GeForce 4 Ti4200 and 512 MB of RAM so its adequete to play all the games they are doing in the tournaments with little trouble.
I got UT2004, UT, CoD, Counterstrike, AoEII with Conq expansion, Gunbound, Worms Armagedon, Warcraft III, Quake III, Revolt, Neverwinter Nights, and Joint Ops: Typhoon Rising installed on it.
