Devices will not show up in windows

Yesterday my internet didn't work. I ran nortons then restarted my comp. When it came back on my sound didn't work. When I go to the device manager nothing shows up at all and my add hardware wizard won't even work. System restore was shut off for some reason so I can't restore it. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Windows XP SP2.

    NVM I tried to repair windows, but that opened another can of worms. So I just formatted and reinstalled.
