Ok, so I think I've figured it out.
To get the recruitable unique warlords, you need to beat them with another unique character. Possibly while also meeting one of the other requirements. (within four turns, super effective attack, or taking no damage)
I just got both Ginchiyo and Muneshige this way, after failing to recruit them by doing super effective damage to them with a generic in a previous battle.
Yeah, I think the 4th condition for unlocking warlords is beating them with a Warlord and not a Warrior. There are certain ones that are unobtainable until later though (Hideyoshi).
I made it fairly far yesterday. Up to about 9 or so nations conquered.
I think the reason that Mitsunari, Kiyomasa, and Fukushima are all kids is that this is supposed to take place during the early part of the Sengoku or something. Seeing as everyone seems to start off in that state (like Hideyoshi). Still kind of weird.
There were only 7 generals in Samurai Warriors who didn't make it into this game too.
is it possible to obtain password pokemon in the game WITHOUT the password? if not, I really don't like the one-use nature of the passwords because if you're not using a guide, you may completely miss out on a perfect link. Like, you need to get lucky.
Also, the fact that so many of the passwords are listed as the wrong pokemon has caused me to waste a good number of pokemon opportunities.

I just got them appearing in the fight area after conquering that kingdom and beat them normally. First I got Ginchiyo, then Muneshige appeared. I actually used her to beat him (since he has a Starly) -- then Ginchiyo's Shinx evolved into Luxio, which is the only evo I've seen so far.
You probably don't need every one of them. You need a few extra to sit on your stuff so people can't take your castles, and you may need some ringers in case you run into a country that trumps half your team.
I have at least two or three people sitting on each of my conquered countries at this point.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. After much toil my Magikarp is still only at 10 attack. At the rate I'm going it's going to be like 40% sync rate before he even evolves.
Okay seriously, it happened again. I had its attack at 15, and now it's 14.
What gives?
EDIT: I think I figured it out. Magikarp's energy was low, and I remember something about pokemon being weaker when that happens, so I gave it some ponigiri, and it evolved right then and there.
Is it true that once you use the code it's gone forever. Unless you clear your save?
Can you screw yourself out of pokemon after using the codes as well?
Using a code causes a swam of that pokemon immediately in the next month, but it also allows swarms of that pokemon to happen randomly from that point on, apparently.
So I picked this up on a whim after reading some good stuff about it. So far, I'm quite pleased at how they merged Pokemon into the SRPG genre. One thing I'm worried about though: Is it imperative that every warrior I recruit must be matched with their Perfect Link Pokemons, or is it okay to just fill the voids in with various types? If it is, how does one go about efficiently finding this Perfect Link?
I've been going around and trying to get some perfect links for a bit now. Typically, the attack at 100% gets special properties, or so I've heard.
In order to get an idea for a perfect link, go to the Information page for a Warrior. Then hit L and look at their preferred type listed. Try and find pokemon related to that type in the wild.
When you find them in battle, click on the Warrior and then look at the pokemon in question. The marker above the wild pokemon's head will either be Bronze, Silver, or Gold.
So far, all of the Gold ones I have found have been Perfect Links. Not sure if this is 100% true, but I've had all 6 of mine so far as Perfect Links.
I had the grass warlord grab two different golds, neither of which turned out to be a perfect link, so they're not always perfect.
I'd ask if the perfect link always matches the favored types, but then I realized that the girl you start with has a perfect with Jigglypuff and Normal/Dragon favored. What does the favored type mean, anyway, is it just a hint at likely compatability?

Yeah, this is how I acquired my first warlord (on my 4th major battle, no less): Ginchiyo. Alas I had to end soon after, so I am not sure how delegating works. Probably just automated leveling/mining/etc. yes?

Will resist looking at that guide. Will resist.
People who have played other Nobunaga games. This month mechanic. Can it screw me in the end just battle randon areas for a few months/years? Does the story have specific events only in certain months?
I'll grind my Eevee to 100% if it's not going to mess up getting warriors/missing things.

My only 'complaint' so far is that the gallery doesn't have any background information on those Warlords and Warriors that actually existed once.
Also, I'm wondering why Mitsunari and crew are depicted as a bunch of kids.

In Ransei, Castles are Gyms.
Anyways, how useful is Delegating?

And the Pokémon he has a super special bond with is... Magikarp.
Welp. Better start grinding, I guess.
As far as I can tell... yes.
I have at least two or three people sitting on each of my conquered countries at this point.
My first one didn't show up until I defeated Kenshin and Shingen.
Magikarp is taking forever.
HOW DOES THIS WORK.
YES I AM MAD.
What gives?

It's pretty good.
Their estimated power made a huge fucking leap from like 130 or something to 200+

Wait.. Australia got it and Europe didn't?

nnnnooooooopers.
Crazy, isn't it? I'm really not sure what NoE is thinking here.
The fuck is even happening? This is possibly the most retarded thing I've heard all week.
I've heard from a very unreliable source that you can only level up buildings in the side stories, not the main campaign.
Huh... That seems odd. Might be right, though, since I can't seem to get them to increase at all.

However, there are random cases where if you take too long to conquer an area, a warrior with a Gabite will appear and bolster the enemy forces.
That guide is super incomplete, by the way.
