So wait, in the post-game, if I find someone their perfect link, will it update in the gallery, or am I screwed because I didn't wax autistic and spend an extra billion hours getting everyone their perfect links in my main runthrough?
i'm mad enough that I didn't get to download the water warlord event before I finished the main quest, not realizing that the wifi event only takes place IN the main quest.
Also, I've been using Serebii's guide, but I'm confused on Mewtwo. It says you need to clear Kenshin's story with all locations at level 3, and then he appears in illusio. Is this for ALL stories from then on in, or do I need to jump back into Kenshin's story all over again?
My copy on my 3DS somehow managed to get the DLC via my WPA settings. No idea how because I couldn't get Pokemon Black to work via the same settings for the life of me.

Oh goddamnit
Ok so turns out there is a building later on that allows you to change your pokemon's ability
so don't be like me and spend hours farming in the same spot just to get a pokemon with one specific ability to show up

I had Mewtwo show up in Hideyoshi's story (the very first one) so I imagine it would show up in any.

So I saw people saying that using Glaceon is an easy way to beat Nobunaga in the "main" game.
But holy shit, meeting the stat requirement for Glaceon probably means you're incredibly over "leveled" in the first place. I'm at 50% link with my second Eevee and nowhere even close.
Got that one randomly, still haven't used the Eevee password yet, so I think I'll end up making this one a Jolteon with Vanguard. My first one being a Water Absorb Vaporeon.
Anyone have any suggestions for decent pokemon for Oichi? Even if it's her Perfect Link, Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff starts feeling a bit lackluster later on. And I notice she has Normal/Dragon specialty, so there should at least be some Dragons she could make use of.

Yeah, I didn't even evolve my Eevee in the main story. I think my Joltik/Galvantula put in more work than it did.
To beat Nobunaga I used some guy with a Drilbur (that evolved into Excadrill after beating the Steel kingdom); Drill Rush + Warrior ability that improves chances for flinching is good times. I believe he was the only non-gold Warrior in my party.

I gave her a Dratini using the in-box code. Dragon Rage is a little subpar as usual, but when it evolves Dragon Tail is crushing.
Just an FYI for those that aren't aware, if you don't manage to recruit a warlord when initially taking down their kingdom, don't sweat it too much. Unless they're warlords that you can only unlock by downloading the event(Motonori/Motochika), they can show up at least one more time in their area's spawn zones randomly after you take over their kingdom.
I've taken Violight without recruiting Ginchiyo and had her show up there randomly for me to battle again, and Yoshihiro in Pugilis as well. You will know when one shows up if the map icon for 'trainer present in the area' is gold instead of silver.
I gave Oichi a Luxray. She's got a pretty high percentage with it and it filled a nice gap in my regular team until I got an Ampharos on one of my warriors. After that I got her a Spheal/Sealeo.

Why won't my Magikarp evolve? The guy has a 38% link, 22 attack, and he likes water.
I'm ready to move on!
You need to do something to have the game check for evolution.
Have him eat a riceball or do some other activity like mining, or have him participate in a battle.
Anyway, so I have an Exadrill for Shingen, a Quagsire for Motochika, a Frosslas for Aya, a Glalie for Kunoichi, and a Dragonair for Oichi (Lucked out and found one in the Ice kingdom at random)
The only thing I'm really missing now is a useful pokemon for my main character, since my Eevee is a Vaporeon and would die if Zekrom even looked at him funny
Is there any point to giving a warlord a pokemon that isn't their best link? I'm not sure why I would bother. If I'm going to use a warlord, it's going to be to raise his BL pokemon anyways. If I need the super effective matching, I'll just grab on of the dozens of grunts I've already got.

At least in the first campaign, you'll never really hit a high enough link % for the difference between a good match and a perfect link to matter.

I've been taking him into battle for the past 6 months in an effort to get his attack up.
I think this Magikarp is defective.

Holy shit, Guardian Charm is incredibly hilariously overpowered.
If you only have one Pokemon on the field, it gives a tremendous boost to their Attack, Defense, and Range.
Make sure to grab at least one, preferably a few (You can leave a single person to defend a castle if they have it equipped) when you see the traveling merchant.
god. I am beginning to think this game may actually be WORSE for the obsessive "Gotta Catch Em All" types than the main Pokemon games. I never thought that could be possible.
I gotta say though. I really hope this took off well enough that they continue it as a series.
Downloaded the WFC event just fine with my 3DS WPA settings.
Gives you those two warlords, don't even have to fight them.

Just beat the main story, actually had a little bit of trouble with the last fight because Nobunaga would get a lucky crit and totally destroy the main character in practically one shot.
Now I'm working through some of the side stories, usually just equipping the main character of the story with a Guardian Charm and having them solo as much as possible.

Now, I say that, but in the post game stuff, it's really hard to get any of those assholes to join you. Nothing seems to work at all.
Looked at the abilities, and Charmander has some really shitty abilities. It's kind of sad when Blaze is his best option.

stupid damn original DS limitations.
This is idiotic that I am having to go in a change my router settings just to download the extra content.

FZP8GqRZRR - Pikachu

I really like motochika's evolved warlord look - he looks like a damn rock star.
but...20 hours.
No, you'll have chances to use him in the voluminous post-game chapters.

You can get them without the event in the parts after the main story.

May be worth checking.

does number of dudes in that area effect it?
If you mean the Nobunaga fight at the end of the first story, Exadrill by itself is a win condition in that fight.
