Ok folks - tonight I'm hitting a company sponsored casino night thingy - I get a few drinks on the company bill and would like to take advantage. However, I'm a cheap drunk (thanks to generally limited cash) and tend to stick to beer for my alcohol needs.
What are some good drinks that will make it look like I know what I'm doing and won't involve a 280 lb guy walking around with a pink drink and an umbrella?

agreed, worst thing you can do is go to a work social event and try and show how you can handle your liqour and drinking stuff your not used too. stick to the beer, at least that way you know what you can handle.

Ok, well if you're worried about amounts, remember 1.5 oz shot = 1 beer.
As far as drinks go, I've always enjoyed a rye and ginger. An Alabama Slammer is good too... ummm... I wish I had my drink dictionary handy.
