i cant seem to recall the title of it and its been bugging me for months. i remember its a side scrolling shooter where you play as a robot. the only other thing i can remember is you can push a button and walk on the ceiling. if anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate it. thanks

From what your saying it sounds like Metalstorm but that was on the NES.
Rocky Rodent. I swear that my brother and I are the only two people on Earth who played this when we were younger. It sits in my collection, unplayed, and I pull it on people who reminisce about the SNES. I get the same reaction every time. "What game is that?"

Man I loved the highway level, the razor mohawk do was really cool! Unfortunatly I never really got good at it and so never finished it.
(My dad owned a video store back when I was a kid so I got to pick and play from a HUGE library of SNES/Genesis games)

I'd like to mention that Metalstorm was a pretty enjoyable game, although it had a lot of glitches. The first boss will self-destruct if you just wait it out, and I've seen other bosses unexpectedly explode after minimal damage when I did some sort of weird button combo.
Also you could beat it in like half an hour once you were good at it, which is kind of quick.
Ok, just to hijack the thread for a second, I need some help. There was an NES or SNES game that I remember loving to death, but I can't remember what it was called or all of the details. It was a 2d side-scrolling adventure game. The basic image that sticks in my mind is a mountain level, but I know there were more. The only thing I can really think of to help is that you obtained items (like grappling hooks, etc) throughout the game from a screen that had a buddha-type statue, with the item on a pedestal.
God, it's been bugging me forever, and I loved that game.

Thank you Rasa, that's what I thought it was, but I wasn't quite sure. My memories are really foggy, and the more I wondered "was it a shield" the more my mind convinced me it wasn't. I remember my mom and I playing that game every frickin day. I feel like an idiot for not knowing. Damn I hope that gets a VC release. I can't remember the game so well, but I remember that it just blew me away, and I've been hooked ever since.
EDIT: Wiki'd it, that's it. Though I can't be blamed for forgetting, I was 6 when it came out. Damn I need to play that again. It's the game that made me realize that Mario wasn't all there was, and started my gaming addiction.
It was a beat-em-up on the Neo Geo (on the arcade, but I assume on the home console too), where you collected orbs that would change your guy into different kinds of samurai. Also, one of the orbs could turn you into a dog/wolf wearing armor.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
This sounds exactly like Altered Beast... only really different. (Especially since AB was never on Neo Geo.)
Two of my favorites that not everyone enjoyed due to expense. My parents were good to me.
Super Scope FTW! I whipped both of those bad boys out not too long ago, along with X-Zone. I have Mario Paint, but no mouse I played the flyswatter game way too much.

No, it's not that. Altered Beast turned you into a werewolf. This game turned you into a honest to goodness four legged wolf (or dog, can't remember), but that was just one of the power-ups. Most of the other ones turned you into various types of samurai.
which has no mobygames entry and only a stub at wikipedia.

However, it is available on GT!
Anyway, there was some awesome stuff with Sengoku. The guys coming out of the backgound to fight you (like running from the background, then jumping into the play area) or fighting against a samurai, and blocking his sword with your hands (slapping it between your hands) and then breaking it. Insanely hard though.
I had a Super Scope, but I couldn't get it to work. I painstakingly translated all the instructions using a dictionary and an English language textbook. I tried everything. It wouldn't work. I lived in Russia at the time, so it's not like I could call Tech Support. When I moved over here I didn't think to bring my SNES (God I was so fucking stupid).
My dad has probably sold off the SNES by now, along with the Super Scope. Remembering this makes me really, really sad.
We'll just add that to the huge list of games on GT that I want to play, and I'll continue putting off getting a subscription.

Man, this makes me mad at when you'd be on Death Mountain, and you could see beyond it, pondering whats out there.

Yeah.
It's a bitch, too.
single player? if so, then bravo sir
I've beaten it co-op. Probably one of the best 2 player games I've ever played.
