Spider-Man. Is there a superhero more striking in his design, more relatable in his personality, and more timeless in his appeal?

No, there isn't.

And what luck, there's a movie featuring him due out July 2nd!

The Amazing Spider-Man

Directed by Mark Webb. Not since "You won't like me when I'm Ang Lee" has there been the opportunity for so many director puns!

It stars Andrew Garfield as a wisecracking Peter Parker, far afield from the mopey Tobey Maguire. With Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy! The chemistry between these two classic lovers was so great that their actors hooked up and had amazing sex which I did not in anyway record with a camera.

Have a trailer!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atCfTRMyjGU

The movie was shot in 3d, so DON'T BE CHEAP ABOUT IT.

Now, ostensibly, this thread is about the film, which will no doubt be the greatest and highest grossing superhero film, not just of this year, but of all time. But why stop there? Spider-Man has a rich history of cartoons, comics, and video games worthy of the greatest superhero ever created. Feel free to discuss those as well!

I hope this movie doesn't suck.

Or at the very least, gets the taste of that godawful musical out of my mouth.

Which by the way I didn't see, but the fact that it was actually created is still bad.

I am told his blood has high levels of radiation

which, when you think about it, doesn't sound like it would make him very strong but yes he has the proportional strength of a spider

The amount of apathy I have encountered on the internet for this film is disheartening. And yet you're excited for The Catwoman Diaries? It is to laugh.

The more I watch the trailer the less I like it, simply because it looks like it's showing the whole plot of the movie.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

yeah that's a problem I've heard about the trailers

I've avoided all the ones besides the initial trailer

which means I didn't even watch that video I posted! I hope there's no dicks in it.

The part with the kid in the car is basically a perfectly filmed spider-man scene.
