I have the exact same problem as mentioned here http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/37772/diablo-2-tcpip-and-stuttering/p1

I have tried Direct3D and the "GLIDE3-to-OpenGL-Wrapper Version 1.4e (c) 2010 by Sven Labusch" and both result in stutter when playing any type of TCP/IP game, be it me joining someone else, or me hosting a game the game will frequently stutter. Single player is butter smooth however. I am testing online with no additional players and am not making use of the /Players command when testing my ability to Host.

I have done everything Blizzard has suggested on there support website as well to no effect. This problem did not begin until after I had installed LoD, before installing LoD the online worked perfectly.

Edit: Is there no way to receive email notifications of replies?

Never mind, it was resolved by either restartng my computer or turning off the Threaded Optimization option in Nvidia Control Panel. (For that specific application, of course)
