Does he do this often? I've seen the burning down the house that Pendragon does, but I've never seen him go "here! Look how much of a jerk he is. You think he's a jerk? How about it? Ban or no ban?"

No. There are privacy issues which typically stop that.
But when the guy in question makes a thread and says "hey i don't care about my supposed privacy issues lets do this" well.. Lets do this indeed.
Public Tribunals are good because they let everyone know what behavior clearly isn't acceptable by the community. But they're bad in that there are privacy issues.

I believe this is the first time he's done something like this

According to the post it's the first time he's done it and an idea he has toyed with doing. He specifically says it may be the only time he does it.
In this case the offender called out Pendragon first with a proposition. Pendragon turned it around and said he would let the community decide.
Community reads the cases, and punishes the offender for obviously trangressions.
A more transparent Tribunal if you will. I love the Tribunal system it makes me happy

Although I believe ALL cases should be public hangings, this man did not opt in for this ass paddling. That being said, he was baited into report #1, cases #2 and #3 was a month apart from each other but he still had that same attitude. Lots of cursing and a "I'm Afking" was thrown in, so punished for 2 weeks he was!
Jax, on my team, tells me he's going to solo dragon as soon as it spawns. I just sort-of facepalm and think "Sure bud", do my own thing.
Maybe 6~ minutes later, gold pops up over my head, Jax gets executed, and I see that dragon is gone. I watch him do the next one right on repawn - he jumps into the dragon's geometry, and the dragon cannot attack him (the dragon animations occur, but the fire projectiles can't hit him. After the dragon dies, all of the projectiles that have been stacking-up next to dragon instagib him.
We were swimming in gold due to this exploit.
With Love and Courage

And I'm sure people missed it before, but I had inquired about where to read the patch files that we download each patch. I noticed @Talith posted a list of PFE before, and I tried my own little search in all my Riot Games files, but could not find any such bin file.
Yea, the guy def asked for this himself.. I mean, just take the ban if it comes from the tribunal, dont' try to appeal to the "greater forum tribunal" because I'd bet there are more outright sadists that'd click punish without even reading in the forums than in the actual tribunal (I still haven't spent any time in it, need to get around to that..)
Also, yea.. I've been not playing as much because their big map redesign really screwed up their geometry.. I dunno if they fixed it, but I was getting caught on jungle walls as Riven left and right for weeks.
I sort-of feel bad for the guy; this is far more a mobbing than a court arbitration (if the guy's case really wasn't all that bad, I think we'd see exactly the same reaction. People want blood, not justice). But, I mean, he begged and pleaded for the mob to lynch him, on top of breaking the rules and trolling people, so there's that.
Yea, you can't help but feel bad for him, but read the punishment he got.. He just has to write apology letters, it doesn't add to his ban. So it's like an afterschool lesson via detention.. I like that aspect of it, and think pendragon does a great job at a job I would hate to have, lol.

I don't really understand the apology letter aspect. Does he get his account back after he writes them? If not, what would be his incentive to write them?

They didn't go into specifics, but I'd assume that is it.. + he has a 2 week ban from the tribunal originally, so he has time to write them. And again, he pretty much provoked the dragon, and crunchy, etc.
Huh, just noticed that Sona's placed really high in Talith's Dominion tier list. I think there's some kind of weird assumed meta that populates lower Elo Dominion games; I've been raged at for picking her before, but I've also been called a troll for picking Malzahar. I'm guessing most people think Dominion is bruiser-only territory or something.
High level Dominion play isn't super visible, so there's not as much trickle-down of strategy and viability like Summoner's Rift sees. Presumably players just go with what they see that gets easy results, which for the most part is bruisers.

Overall, I think Dota 2 is actually better on the single person ganks. Due to the longer cc times, they space everything out better so it's easier to see what happens. In LoL an early game kill can happen so fast you've no idea what just happened. Especially if there's an Ashe involved.
You posted while I was writing; having caught it, I want to say I disagree 100%. Margins of life and death are way thinner in DotA 2, due to the lack of summoner spell escapes. You have to get over a pretty minimal hump learning to be alert in order to survive at least one gank attempt in League, for certain, every game; once you get the hang of warding and lane management, it's pretty easy. Bad as I am at top I do fine when I stay disciplined and play it tight; even if I play tight in DotA2, some guy might come by and jack my shit under the persistent but weirdly impotent towers.
Make no mistake, I mean that purely from a spectator perspective based on my last couple of day's experience of watching the two games back to back. As a player, yes, it's absolutely horrible. There is absolutely no room for mistakes in Dota 2 and I completely agree with your point. It's part of the reason I don't play all that much Dota. What I meant is that as a spectator, it's possibly somewhat easier to see what happens when multiple people gank someone in Dota 2 (in pro play) early game, than it is in LoL. However, the difference is very minimal and overall I think LoL is easier to spectate. It certainly looks better.
As far as that goes, we agree. Actually, speccing Heroes of Newerth is pretty entertaining; playing it just isn't. Very strange.

Makes sense. I actually like that the meta isn't as rigid as SR's, if I'm being honest, and I also like that builds which would be crazy on SR can sometimes work better than the normal builds. Laning as AD Malz against AP Malz and dominating is magical.
Getting disconnected from games and not being able to get back in, happening to anyone else? (i got back in once after a few tries but after that it just wasnt happening)
I ate the entire cake. At one point, I remember becoming aware of the oppressive fullness building inside of me, but I kept eating out of a combination of spite and stubbornness. No one could tell me not to eat an entire cake - not my mom, not Santa, not God - no one. I would eat cake whenever I damn well pleased. It was my cake and everyone else could go fuck themselves.

This happened to me. [well, someone else queue dodged and then i was unable to leave queue and it had assigned me to a game]. Riot CS told me it was likely a server load issue. You're pretty much out of luck for an hour and a half or so.
duo normal draft with Wicked. Playing against Elementz =\
I didn't have a terrible game but our team lacked cohesion and our jungle wasn't very aware.
I got counterpicked.
Also, I'm still 100% for playing champs I don't know against famous / good players. Any game I end up against 2K+ or the like, it's on a champ I haven't play for months.
High ELO dominion is roughly about the same 100 players and the tournaments only get around 100~200 views so yeah, High ELO dom doesn't trickle down very well. There is also no real public ranking you can easily check and with this patch they removed normal ELO visibility again (despite riotnome telling them we all loved seeing it) so you won't be able to use a third party app to check and record your ELO progress.
Also on the subject of items, the reason you see a lot of items that you won't normally ever pick up on SR is because if you are top lane then you are probably only getting 10k gold on average. As such you want a lot of really gold efficient mid tier items and aren't aiming to fill each slot with a really slot efficient high tier item.
For example a J4 build might look like:
Aegis, Brut, Phage, Warden's mail, Hexdrinker (not necessarily in this order)
All sitting in his inventory and then upgrading them as the need arises.
It's also why you don't see too many AD carries since a lot of the end game stars won't actually get the gold to go critical mass, and if they go bottom to farm then they will be ganked mercilessly.

I have a feeling they're pushing through a hotfix for the dragon issue. That was just, well, dumb.
The guy opted in to his public hanging.
Yup!
Offender : Proposition regarding ban!
Pendragon : Counter-proposition involving community
Offender : Acceptance!
Pendragon : New thread creation with context
Community : BURN THE WITCH
Or something like that.
