Have any of you guys played LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars?
I was a little confused 'cause I thought it was part of the Complete Saga, but evidently, it's not.
Was thinking about getting it/waiting for the steam sales and hoping for a daily since it's only $20 and Harry Potter Years 5-7 is still $48.
Nah, the saga is episodes 1-6. The Clone Wars covers the bit in between episode 2 and 3, and is based on the CGI cartoon.
It's quite good. Lots of nice touches that reference the show in unusual ways.
The game world is quite big. There's both a Republic and a Separatist Cruiser to explore, plus a couple of other areas. Each cruiser can fly to a fair number of sectors, and you can take off in a nice assortment of separatist and republic fighters to explore those areas.
It has an RTS mission type, which I found very fun. Collect studs, use studs to buy buildings, buildings summon troops which can be led or which will automatically run towards the nearest enemy group. Some buildings summon vehicles, which (again) will march on the enemy, or you can pilot them. The same rules apply - steel bricks can only be destroyed by explosives; gold requires concentrated fire.
It's very much worth $20, if you like Star Wars, the CGI cartoon, or LEGO games in general.
edit: it's probably my favorite of the LEGO games I own. Those being LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Sage, LEGO Stars Wars III: The Clone Wars, and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4.
Oh crap. I remember someone from this thread saying they beat Precipice of Darkness ep. 1, but then had problems running 2. Apparently I have the same, or at least a similar issue now: ep. 2 hangs at launch on my PC. Weak sauce.
The classiness of people came upon me and granted me Space Marine, and then this morning, Iolo had ALSO gifted me space marine, and I got a JOB! FINALLY!
SO I declined the classy Iolo's gift and will now pass the class along to YOU, THE FINE TOP HAT AND MONOCLE'D!

I know it's not on sale right now, but episode 2 of The Walking Dead just dropped yesterday, so it's almost like getting a free game (that you paid for in advance months ago).
More to the point: it is incredible. I really enjoyed episode 1, but so far episode 2 has blown it away. Probably my favorite thing Telltale has ever done.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust
I just picked up 2 wireless 360 controllers at a yard sale - $2 each. I already have the PC dongle thing to hook them up to my computer. However, they are lacking battery doors so obviously they won't hold batteries... Is there anywhere at retail I might find such things? I don't really need a $20 play & charge kit... They're in wicked nice shape, one's black, the other is black & red.
Second, I also got a wired 360 headset for .50. Will that work with the PC as well? I figured 2 quarters was worth the risk.

Check out the related items, too. It's a pretty simple piece of plastic/wire, so you probably should be able to find them even cheaper (or in colors to match your controllers) if you click around a bit.
I actually have a wired one that was gifted to me, but for $2 each I couldn't resist since I already had the PC adaptor for wireless controllers... Thanks for the amazon link - the alternative is for $20 right now Best Buy has a two battery charging thing on sale...depends on what I can convince the wife I suppose!

Absolutely. I thought the first episode was pretty good, but damn. They totally kill it on the second one. If they can maintain that quality over the next three episodes they'll have made something pretty special.
And as a guy who just bought a $19.99 refurbished model of the wired 360 controller from Microcenter it is SO BAD ASS to have for so many games. I highly recommend it.
Also, BIG THANK YOU @KIRBITH, FOR THE Humble Bundle V Key - which means thanks to this fine forum I was able to get the Bundle, minus Psychonauts, even though I missed out on it due to moving.

In all honesty the wired controller is better supported on the pc
The wireless one seems to have strange quirks with certain games

LEGO Batman 2 is the only one that I've played, so I'm not sure if it's just this game that I'm digging or the whole series. :P
I didn't even know there was a cartoon. :P

How exactly does that play? I always imagined it to be some kind of visual novel-y QTE deal like heavy train, but I know almost nothing about it.

Truly classy gentlemen up in here.
No problem! Just glad I was able to find someone who could use it.
Now if I could only ever find someone to give away the copy I've got of Portal. I think I'm stuck with that one for life though haha.

I think they give away Portal keys in boxes of Cracker Jacks now.
Just bought the new Summer Bundle but I only really wanted a couple of games so if anybody wants any of:
Serious Sam 2 for: steam (pc)
Gundemonium Recollection for: steam (pc), windows, desura
GundeadliGne for: steam (pc), windows, desura
Hitogata Happa for: steam (pc), windows, desura
Acceleration Of Suguri X-Edition for: windows, desura
You know what's a good game? Spec Ops. Totally. Not like Ghost Recon Puker Soldier or Max Lame 3.
in all seriousness, loving the game. The shotgun is brutal and the moral choices you get are really well done and not that jarring compared to other games.
Well, I'm glad the sale hasn't started now... We had a terrible storm blow through a few hours ago, and have no power. Best I can tell we may not have power for days at this rate.
If you are X hours west of DC then that same storm absolutely walloped us last night. Good thing (?) I'd already lost my Magic draft by the time the power went out. Stupid Goldnight Redeemer.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to cut open a path to the kitchen door before the temp breaks 100 again.
Yeah, about 6-8 hours west of there. Luckily nothing happened to our house. A few branches down and such. They're saying 5-7 days before all power is back on. At least my DS is charged up.
I'm in Southern NJ and we lost power from the storm too. I was using my 3DS as a flashlight last night and my netbook to charge my phone. Was so glad I got the extended battery on my 3DS. Playing Layton in the dark.
I can't tell if Atlantica Online looks good or bad, has anyone played it?
I played it years ago. I enjoyed the turn-based tactical combat. I dueled this one guy and he beat me badly, then he explained his strategy and we fought again with the same teams and I won. The quest text is funny, and helping others has in-game rewards, so people are nice.

If you're running Windows 7, put the game's executable on your desktop, right click it, select properties, compatibility tab, and set it to run on Windows 95 compatibility. I've heard that works.
It's not Steam, but GoG has The Whispered World for 60% off right now at $5.99, if anyone is interested. Part of the daily sales they're running for a limited period.

Depends on what's happening. Mostly it's WASD to walk around various areas with Resident Evil style fixed camera angles. The mouse pointer works like it does in most adventure games. Click on people to talk, scroll wheel to select objects to use on other objects. Basic stuff. Then there are action sequences that set things up differently. Like you may be on your back having to back away (using S) from a zombie while aiming and kicking at its head (using the mouse). Or you there are some QTE events where you have to button mash and time an attack just right. Sometimes you'll have to decide between helping two people by tossing them a gun (mouse pointer, again), or sneak up on a zombie and aim your axe to decapitate him.
It all works together really well with an exceptionally well crafted story and some great characters. Plenty of moral dilemmas, too. And not black and white ones. More like cool grey and warm grey. Like deciding whether to side with the old asshole who doesn't trust you because he and his daughter could be badass allies, or the dopey redneck who likes you, but his son is an idiot liability. Or giving food rations to the stronger adults so they can effectively patrol and keep you safe, of giving it to the kids and being a "good guy" who may be endangering the entire group by not feeding the fighters.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

I vote PAA3. It is the only game that is topical at the moment and it really won't take you that long to beat.
