Live auctions and CSC Collectibles MLB?

I went to my first live auction today. We got carried away and took a risk on some sports stuff only to find the signatures authenticated by CSC Collectibles (calsstore.com). It looks like that's a bad authentication from a thread on eBay? I don't know. But does that mean I have a bad auctioneer? Or are they all very hands off when it comes to that? They are clear there is no warranty or guarantee, but if this authenticator really is fishy why would they sell them?
