The design is the whole problem, the character is fine. For some reason the concept explains that she's got skin showing because her kinetic barrier is her primary defense, and that's like...kinetic barriers are everyone's first line of defense. I think they could have made a cooler warrior monk: one of her row concepts even looks samurai-ish (also the spiked out fringes up center look cooler than standard asari 'hair').

You know that's kind of a missed opportunity.
I get, lore-wise, that justicars have almost all of their power in their biotics, and if you punch through those then any armor they'd be wearing is essentially useless anyway
But if that's the case, why not just have her be topless? Full-out no covering on her upper torso at all, just covered in the scars of battles fought over the course of centuries, her body a road map of war, so you take this attractive frame and look at it and your first reaction is "holy SHIT, what the hell happened"
I'm of mixed feelings about her loyalty mission. On the one hand the story is interesting and I like that they tried to resolve it in a way other than 'shepard shoots 50 generic mooks.' On the other hand I don't think the dialogue-as-investigation' kind of gameplay is really in the game's wheelhouse.
Her backstory/character writing is fine, though. The scene where shepard tries to bone her is amazing.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Speaking of human soldier. I've been messing around with dropping adrenaline rush for concussive shot. It's pretty damn effective when used with a falcon.
Normally I just use constant AR with falcon spam and grenades on groups, but I think concussion shot is much better. You can stagger way more often now and it's (slightly) less boring since you actually have buttons to press now.
I recommend trying it.
I can vouch for the effectiveness of MildConfusion in this build. I ran out of enemies to shoot on gold!
If anything, the asari are a deconstruction of the blue space babe trope. They are basically the most powerful race in the galaxy, far from the Orion Slave Girls from Star Trek that they're meant to evoke.
They make alliances with other races, both officially and individually, that are too good to be true... and my guess is that it probably is. How much espionage do you imagine comes out of a race of all-biotic, all telepathic pansexual commando strippers that live to be a thousand? I mean, we don't even know what they really look like because of their freaky mind/perception control.
They might be nerd-bait, but I think they're more schmuck-bait.
Wait Asari do mind whammies and change how we see them? I thought they just produced designer sex pheromones based upon what species was viewing them.
Humans, turians, and salarians all see asari as looking essentially like themselves.
The human in that particular conversation wondered aloud if asari were sutbly mind-controlling all of them, and that nobody really knew what they actually looked like
The party laughed nervously
Is there any concept art or fan art available of 'turianised' or 'salarianised' asari?

Oh man there's always something I wondered in the first game
THere are certain conversations where whoever is with you will take either the "paragon" or the "Renegade" role, and it seemed like there was a clear hierarchy to some conversations (like Liara is most Paragon, Wrex is most Renegade) but for others it wasn't as clear, liek Ashley might register more Renegade than Wrex?
Anyway
Did we ever figure out the mechanics behind that stuff?

depends on the choice but the characters are ranked, most can argue for both and it depends who the other squadie is

Man, I know it's just probability fucking with me, but I haven't gotten an Ultra Rare in who knows how many PSPs. I had heard rates had been set at like 10% or so but I feel like I've bought a couple dozen and seen nothing.
I don't care how much the Ultra Rare pack would cost, just give us one.
Ultra-rares? What are those? I'm treating PSPs as "Rank IV equipment packs" these days. Still better than character cards but yeah, I'd definitely drop a million on an ultra-rare pack.

I replayed the end run portion again with some different characters to see other dialogue, and with the evac scene
Liara's final talk to Shepard is kinda crap if you didn't romance her. It's basically her going "I......." and she doesn't say anything else, but it's her not saying she loves you and whatever. Garrus has a great friend talk, I expected something like that from Liara, so that was a waste.
I'm also getting the same slides at the end on destroy I got the first time around, that I thought were random. I get Miranda in a field, Jacob talking to people, Kasumi sitting and looking at a Keji hologram, Zaeed chilling, and Samara at the monastery. I thought they were random, wanted to see the Jack one or a Grunt one.
Gentlemen, I am hooked on this game's multiplayer. Hooked, I tells ya!
I'm only really happy with my Human soldier, though. Frag grenades on groups, assault rifle + concussive shot everyone else. Since I have the most engies unlocked (Salarian, Geth, Quarian), I think I'm gonna tackle that next. Any strategies or recommended builds I should know about?

Considering just how many hours that would take to complete (though, bypassing the RNG is totally awesome), and how the playerbase has dwindled and will continue to do so, I'd rather see them go with something vastly more conservative, like 200-250k, even if they had to balance it by having the pack only contain an UR. Be an interesting tradeoff; getting guaranteed UR's but also being guaranteed to not get any new gear, characters, rares or even consumables, which even with GWG farming you will expend over time.
Also, keep in mind their bioware points purchasing feature; they want it to be expensive enough to get some cash flowing, without being so expensive that nobody is willing to spend money on them. A PSP is what, $2 basically? I can't see anyone but the "whale'iest of the whales" (to borrow a F2P/Zynga term) would buy $20 packs unless they contained multiple guaranteed ultra rares. Like, 5 of them.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
Well the problem with making it cheaper is that new players would just skip the spectre packs in favor of the ultra-rare packs, the same way people skip veteran packs. Of course if they made it to where you couldn't buy an ultra-rare pack unless you maxed all the other weapons out it would be fine but I doubt that is ever going to happen.
Man, a team of four Kroguards on Gold/Geth is hilarious. We cannot die, but it also takes us forever to kill Primes. a pile of krogan just headbutting and charging and yelling is pure good times.

The best part about kroguards, and well krogan in MP in general, is you can start head butting the air between matches, and other krogan will immediately join you no matter what.

200-250k is at least 3 full Gold runs, that's a pack an hour at best.
Newer players would be much better off with PSPs for 2 golds guaranteed and a chance at UR's for 100k if the proposed URPs only contained a single UR.
I'm talking a pack expensive enough to make it a tough choice, but inexpensive enough to be a reasonable goal for players who have or are close to maxing out all their rares.
Like the 'whales', I can't imagine large sections of the playerbase would really be drooling over needing to complete literally 14-15 gold rounds for a single pack. That's at least 4-5+ hours of gameplay for a single pack, if they went with the million credit mark.
Anything less than 2+ URs in such a pack would be little more than a novelty.
I've managed to max my gold weapons and am roughly a dozen char appearance unlocks from finishing those too, and even I can't see myself putting in literally hundreds of hours of play just to put a dent in the 80+ UR unlocks I have left.
Edit: the other side of that is that many people have estimated that they get an UR every 10'ish packs or better. Some people hit a streak where they snag 2 back to back in PSPs (hell, I've gotten two in the same PSP before!). Unless the hypothetical UR pack contained 1-2+ UR's and several gold items, you'd still probably be better off getting PSPs if the URPs were a million.
10 PSPs for 20 golds and zero to a bunch of URs would be hard to beat. Also there's the matter of wanting to keep that carrot within reach. You don't want the grind to be so arduous that most players ignore it or give up in frustration. Keeping them spending makes them more likely to want to earn or buy 'just one more pack'. Putting it so far out of reach would be more likely to make them either roll their eyes and go do something else, or simply do one for the sake of a large but not insurmountable goal, get a Scorpion II and then go back to playing something else.

If they released an UR pack it would probably end up being around 120-150k.
Slightly more than an PSP and double the cost of a regular Spectre pack.

I joined a room as my Krogan Sent and there was a Krogan Soldier in there. So its a regular game and all and we get between waves and we just stand there looking at each other doing something.
So I'm waiting.
And he's waiting.
Then he headbutts, then I headbutt, and we just keep headbutting until the next wave starts.
