Yet another person whose work made my childhood has passed on. Andy Griffith died this morning at his home in North Carolina. He was 86. His biggest successes were The Andy Griffith Show and Matlock.

Edit: Ernest Borgnine just died today, July 8th, at the age of 95. May the ship fly over and Airwolf take you away.
Edit2: Today, July 13th, Richard Zanuck died at the age of 77. He is the famous producer of Jaws, and Driving Miss Daisy.

You should look into The Andy Griffith Show. It's full of iconic characters and it holds up very well in both humor and general entertainment.
One of the all-time classic characters on one of the all-time classic shows.
