I need to move off of Vanilla forums. Suggest a worthy host.

I am need to move a forum away from Vanilla because they have lots of outages and poor customer service, which is pretty much the exact opposite of what they promise. My forum is very low traffic; 500–2000 hits a day. My concerns are mostly spam and security; I need a host who keeps their stuff locked down and is proactive about spam so that I do not need an army of mods to manage it. Any suggestions.

Are you looking for something paid? or free?

Paid is fine, something in the $20 a month range is probably my limit given that Vanilla was supposed to be the best and they start at $50.

I'm sorry to hear you say that Vanilla has poor support. I've looked through your ticket history and noticed a few occasions where you've actually thanked us for our quick turnaround. Our historical uptime has not dropped below 99%, and we're actually spending a ridiculous amount of man-hours shoring up several key parts of our infrastructure with the goal of reaching "Four Nines" of guaranteed uptime.

I'm sorry to see that you're not a happy camper, but I feel like you're giving us a bit of an undeserved bad rap :/

    This thread. :^:

Personally hosted solutions for forums are mostly shit, in actuality vanilla is probably the best of all of them. The rest probably use some flavor of phpBB anyways. Not so great if you are wanting to stop spam or are concerned with security.
