Hi, I have Blackberry Curve 9360 with the AT&T network. I would like it to work in Europe (i.e., unlocked for international roaming).
I called up AT&T and got an unlock code.
But I don't know what to do with it. The instructions they sent me don't really work because they say to go to "Options > Advanced Options" except my phone doesn't have that. Instead I have Options > Device > Advanced System Settings. Which I have tried.
It then says to type MEPD and then MEP2 and nothing happens when I do.
I tried chatting with AT&T support but it's like talking to a tree. He kept telling me to get a non AT&T sim card and that it's the only way to unlock my phone.
Bullshit. First of all the initial instructions don't mention
anything about a non AT&T sim card. Second of all I've unlocked my previous curve (8320) in a similar fashion (i.e., entering the unlock code somewhere into the options) so clearly it's possible and the dude just wasn't understanding my problem and had no idea what I was talking about.
So before I have to deal with phone support again, does anyone know how to enter the unlock code into this particular model?

Depending on the phone model it's entirely possible that you'll need a non-carrier SIM to input the unlock code properly. Some won't do it without it. You'll get a prompt asking you for the unlock code, you put it in, and you're done. But you can't get the prompt any other way.
Head to a T-Mobile store and ask for a SIM card, if they aren't total jerks they should just give you one. It costs them nothing and if they try to charge you they're either being a dick or hoping that you pay cash, don't expect a receipt either way.
I'll see if I can figure out anything more specific for the 9360.
But I entered the code and it should be good.
Thanks though!

So yes, all you should need is a non-AT&T SIM for yours and the unlock code AT&T gave you. If you try it two or three times and it doesn't work STOP because you're using up your unlock attempts. You'll probably want to call back to Customer Care and see if you get someone who actually knows what they're talking about (this is a common tactic).
I figured it was possible as it was with the 8320.
And customer care has been useless for me because they wouldn't even understand what I want from them.
I tried googling of course, but I kept googling "unlocking for international roaming" and wasn't getting anywhere. Then I realized I should google how to enter unlock code instead.
Either way, thanks everyone, phone has been unlocked.
