Metal crutches used by some disabled people to get around

This is a relatively simple question. I'm just having some issue looking it up because any search I can think of doesn't yield an answer.

I knew one gentleman in high school who was disabled. He had slight control over his legs but he wasn't able to put much weight on them. To get around, he had to use these two metal crutches that also had a place for him to rest his forearms.

Do these have a name? And also, what illness(es) necessitates their use?

I hate you and you hate me.

Muscular Distrophy, MS, polio, severe scoliosis all come to mind. I don't know what they're called, though.

Forearm crutches is what they're commonly called I believe.
