to be honest now that i'm actually thinking about about it
what i was really thinking was "but there is left 4 dead"
which isn't really the same as what i said so i will retract it
Man, I dunno, Left 4 Dead is pretty much a zombie game, even if the zombies aren't technically zombies.
oh no i mean "one good zombie game that i can think of" isn't really the same as "there are lots of good zombie games"
left 4 dead is just so good it made me think the genre had lots of good to it
Ah, okay.
As far as the genre goes, L4D and Resident Evil are pretty much all I can think of in terms of good zombie games, though I don't know if RE can even be considered part of the genre at this point.
It's kinda disappointing; you'd think a game where the options are "Survive and fortify or die and join the enemy" would have the potential for a lot of interesting mechanics.

This game is amazing. To quote Vinny from Giant Bomb, if you are not playing this you suck.
And to those that asked it is indeed an adventure game, with a big focus on dialogue. There are plenty of choices that can mean life or death for the characters in the game, in a way that reminds me of Mass Effect.
Also Clementine, a girl that you save early in the game, is awesome and adorable. She is used very effectively to add weight to the consequences of your choices, and as an innocent perspective on all the fucked up things that are happening.
This latest episode I stabbed a guy through the chest with a pitchfork, and having to explain why to her later was not the most fun thing I have ever had to do.
I can never get these episodic games as they come out, I get all antsy waiting for the next one. But once the complete bundle or disc release comes out I'm there.
In the 'decent to good' games, Dead Island is pretty fun. Smackin them zombies up close in a sandbox world. The only thing against it is that it never becomes hard, the same tactics you learn in the first 15 minutes keep on working until the end. Only one 'special' zombie requires effort. Also the story is meh, but eh videogames.

I went from loving that game to hating it in about the time I was halfway through the city. By the time I hit the sewers I gave up

How scary are they, on a scale of Limbo to Amnesia?

But I'm not sure I would call it a zombie game.
Even though there are zombies in it.

genre wise
the trailers are all cut scenes
i think it's an adventure game

While Veretas is being voltage calmed, let's move on to the Lightning Round!
they've said they're planning on doing a second season, too
assuming they can maintain the quality of the current episodes, this is a bloody good thing
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better

Any horror will be the depravity of humanity type.
I heard they were making them and though "oh, they are making a video game, that is going to be awful"
and then it was not
RE4
Dead Rising
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (it's better than vanilla DR2)
There's a chance you may still get your awful game!
