You could also have used Kayne from Nier for sexuality. Its the only time I've ever seen a hermaphrodite used in a game.

Thinking about teenage life, and the things that we all go thorough, I cant help but think of the It Gets Better Project ( http://www.itgetsbetter.org/ ) It does. It gets better like a rocket gets high. Even if you are comfortably straight and 100% normal in every way (I don't know what that means, but it sounds good) it STILL gets better. A million times better if you aren't straight in some way.

The reality is that as we all explore ourselves at some point. That day marks the tipping point. From there... Enjoy life ^_^ because it keeps getting better!

I LOVE this episode, but it's flat-out wrong to say Kanji is definitively gay or that Naoto might be trans. Yes, Troy Baker said he is, but the in-game characterization shows him as conflicted, in part because of his "girly" hobbies but also because of Naoto, whom he is interested in regardless of gender (as shown before and after her reveal). Honestly, I'd say he's likely pansexual rather than gay.

Full disclosure: I'm a gay man myself, so it's not coming from an "EW I DON'T WANT HIM TO BE GAY" perspective but a "I know the voice director said this, but the game itself says otherwise" idea.

As for Naoto, she's not about being trans; she says herself that her issue with her gender identity is due to her career path being unfriendly toward children as well as women, and I believe her social link even tells players that she's comfortable being a woman and only presents as a man because she wants to be a detective.

The current term for people with male and female sexual characteristics is intersexed. Hermaphrodite is only used for animals nowadays, last I checked, and is considered by offensive by people.

@Antimatter Hermaphrodite is having both male and female facilities, whether human or animal (I only separate human from animal because of the people who think humans aren't animals). Its a legit term, and shouldn't call for offense like the term "gay".

Commenting on this clip: sexuality shouldn't make a character. It is only an aspect of them. When its overly flaunted it screams "rape me" which some people enjoy, but for me places this person with all the stupid jail bait (young women) that go from pub to pub, drunk. It would be nice to see some casual characters with other sexual preferences that doesn't border on the obscene or goofy.

@Mogg - @Antimatter is right. Intersex is the proper term. "Recently, the word intersex has come into preferred usage for humans, since the word hermaphrodite is considered to be misleading and stigmatizing,[3] as well as 'scientifically specious and clinically problematic'.[4]"
