we got into a debate over the artistic merit of Felicia Day over dinner
I'm not a fan of Felicia Day really
few things enrage me like someone telling me to fix something I'm already fixing (or do something I'm already doing)
like, seeing-red angry
they're judging me, even if they're not saying anything, in which case they're SILENTLY JUDGING ME
and then I get all self conscious and make mistakes
parents (or other loved ones that you care about) teaching you to drive is going to be a fool's game pretty much every time, with any personality type
either you end up screaming at each other in the car the whole time and feel totally invalidated and unconfident
or you sulk and take your mood out on the road, which means you're less careful, which means they criticize you more, which means you sulk more, which means you take your mood out on the road more, etc etc
or you take every constructive critique of your driving as a personal attack
the number of people who had a PLEASANT experience while being taught to drive by parents or loved ones is likely in the stark minority
Truth.

Enneagram Test = 9w1 (probably; the instinctual variant test gave me 6w7, though type 9 was the second highest and pretty close to type 6)
So Peacemaker with a hint of the Reformer.
The Peacemaker description is...pretty accurate.
Type 5 (The Investigator)
Type 6 (The Loyalist)
Type 9 (The Peacemaker)
I don't know what fictional character this makes me!
Captain America

my dad taught me to drive
and he was awesome at it, perhaps because he had taught my older sister as well
or perhaps because my dad is awesome in general
either way
he was super-supportive and confident and corrected when necessary
and also said stuff like this
"Whoa, slow down."
"What? Why?"
"So we can check out that blonde."
I din't know it was supposed to be rare?
so... there we go, I guess

edit- the healthy stuff on that site sounds a lot like me, as well as the paranoid stuff too. This is really neat. Thanks @Oghulk you've made a good thread.

Every time I do one of these reminds me that I really should start looking for a therapist. I just don't know where to start looking.

Parents are bad, but someone you're dating and eventually your spouse is altogether a new level of pain.
I taught Mrs. Hunter to drive while we were in college. Holy shit was that experience traumatic. What made things worse was I passed the written test and then the driving portion of the test on the first try. She had to take the written test twice. Then she failed the driving portion right near when her learner permit was about to expire, so she had to apply for another one, wait a week, and then try again.
She failed the parallel parking part of the course. I took her to a parking lot and set up a duplicate test with some plastic drums and she argued and argued about how it's stupid, impossible, and even I couldn't do it in only 3 back ups. Like a moron I got in the driver's seat and did it in one...she was not pleased with me for several days.
