mirror's edge with jet set radio graphics?

    hi

    yes

    sign me up

I like how it's not in first person

but the first person was great and also the only thing that made mirror's edge different

first person platforming is inherently not a good thing because you cannot tell where your feet are

Personally I loved it. It would have been a small fraction as fun as it was if it were in 3rd person.

my vote would obviously be for recettear. I can give you some pointers if you are having trouble making debts, as that's only half the game. a lot of the stuff is easier to get when it's not breathing down your neck(unlocking characters and their interactions takes a lot of dungeon crawls)

Recetter doesn't seem like the best game to stream, since there is little room for commentary over the dialog.

I'd vote for HAWX actually, because that could be funny.

I really, really like Mirror's Edge.

But trying to get that Pacifist achievement could be stupidly hard sometimes.

Also, it looks like Recettear is winning. I may do that one this evening and JC2 tomorrow.

oh god I can't imagine not beating up all the cops

especially on the big orange indoor tower where you have to rush to the bottom to reach faith's sister

there are a million guys in there and half of them have those heavy machine guns

Well, no, you can beat them up.

    You just can't shoot them.

Which is hard enough, honestly, because some of the timings on the disarm counterattacks are pretty bizarre.

So many checkpoints failed because I just could not press the button at the right time and got hit in a head with a rifle butt over and over.

yeah in that are specifically I have to do the time slowing thing on the first guy with a gun and after disarming him I shoot my way down picking up new and bigger guns on the way

I realize you're supposed to kung fu but some of the disarms are really hard and so many people shooting you at once

  • ShortyShorty touching the meat Intergalactic Cool CourtRegistered User regular
yoshi's island is fairly desirable so it's not too cheap but it's not super expensive like EVO or earthbound

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
huh, what makes EVO so expensive?

  • UrielUriel Registered User regular
I don't think they made a ton of carts.

Plus it's one of those games a few people remember and remembered as being strangely fun. So it's a hit with collectors.

Recettear is great, you should play it.

Game play is solid, and actually fairly challenging; it is the first game I have consistently failed at. I need to go back and play it some more.

reccetear becomes easy when you learn to manage your time

mostly when to go in dungeons and when to get stuff from the town market to sell at a minor profit

  • captainkcaptaink TexasRegistered User regular
Buying and selling is more more lucrative than dungeon-running and selling, especially early on.

  • Bluedude152Bluedude152 Registered User regular
Sounds like something fun to play. Watch? Not so much. Guess we will see

    p0a2ody6sqnt.jpg
  • JarsJars Registered User regular
dungeon running really only exists for reasons that don't involve making money: to unlock characters, item fusion, and just to run the dungeons. save it for endless mode

food is definitely the biggest seller early on, load up on stuff like beef bowls. after that clothing followed by weapons are usually the easiest to sell.

definitely a point in the game where if you don't have the dungeons unlocked you're fucked

so it's worth delving just to open them up

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
during the main debt line? no. I paid off the entire debt without touching the dungeons except for 1 day which I only did to unlock charme so I could get her true card. At the end I had enough cash to pay off everything so I went on a few trips with her with no real point except to get the card.

  • SeriouslySeriously Registered User regular
let's talk about how good charme is

I haven't unlocked everyone (I have louis, spear girl, bow girl and magic boy) but she seems head and shoulders above the rest

Melding's reaction to that is pretty much what mine was.

i'm thinking i am mostly through it. i've discovered how to make the monsters stand down and when to just run the fuck away. plus there was a pretty cool cut scene, so at least the game stays visually interesting.

charme is so good, so fast and so much damage with mirror image.

I really hope touch screens are not the future. I only use the stylus on the DS in a few games where's really just a pseudo mouse.

At no point in the game do you have to dungeon crawl. I beat it purely buying and selling.
