Wii Remote problems

I just bought a new Wii remote and nunchuck, and I noticed that while the position sensor on the remote works fine, the motion sensor seems to be broken (when I swing the remote, Link doesn't swing his sword, or when I try to spin/flip in SSX Blur, nothing happens). I tried re-syncing the remote with the system, and that didn't solve anything. Anyone else have a similar problem, or should I just return it?

I'm not expert, but that sounds like a defective remote. I would return it.

    Let's not get hasty here.

Before you return it, try this: Unplug the system for a few minutes, plug it back in, and then re-sync the remote. It very well could be defective, but it could just be a bad sync or something.

Tried with no luck. I guess it's just a bum remote. Thanks for the help
