I really wanted to get more into stuff like the buttons, Assassins ball, and Costuming this year.. it just got so busy at work I didn't have the time to get anything setup. I'm still exited and will have a lot of fun still heh
Hi, I live in the Seattle area and have not received our 3 day passes yet. My concern is I was able to purchase mine before the crash of registration and they switched back to the original registration company. I did receive my confirmation from the registration vendor and then again once they switch registration companies. Is it possible that this could be causing the delay? Trying to wait until Friday before I panic!
I purchased mine from the original system as well and they arrived a few days ago. I'm not sure there's a "delay" yet, yours may just be in the later waves of shipments. (Someone in the know, please correct me if I'm wrong.) People are still getting theirs, from what it seems.
The waves are not over, and the time you purchased them and your location have nothing to do with when you get them. It's always across the board, and people always come in saying "my neighbor got theirs, shouldn't I have gotten mine?" It's a common fright.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how they're sorted for mailing?
I assume that they're sent out sorted by UID, probably in the order they were purchased. We purchased ours immediately when the first round of purchasing was live, before it crashed, and then our badges came in the first wave of mailings.

Anyone actually know for sure how they do it?
Not sure...but I can tell you that we also got our passes before it crashed and have not received ours yet. (Won't get them until next week) That said, I am in Canada so it may have to do with all sorts of factors not JUST when you purchased them, but also location throw in the last names of people...maybe even our forum handles may all play a factor. lol!

I sincerely doubt it's in the order purchased by rule. I've been in the first "set" of people buying badges for every pax I've attended and have ranged from getting my badges very early in the process to not getting them until after everyone else in my area already had theirs. I don't think anyone here has any insight into how it works since the badges are sent to a 3rd party company to get mailed. Of course it could be that it just changes from year to year how they do it, and that's why there's no discernible pattern over time.
Mine arrived in the mail today. I cracked a beer in celebration. Then cracked a beer in celebration of beer cracking. It was a vicious cycle.

I'm fairly certain it involves chicken entrails and a ouija board.

Wait, you all don't know about the great bobcat games? They decide which ones go out first, it's quite the process, let me tell you. (Just to be clear, no bobcats are harmed in the games, btw.)
Grrr!! I'm sure that when Fed Ex decided to send mine they looked at the map and decided on the most ridiculous route (without going backwards) to send them! I have been watching my tracking number and have shaken my head on more then one occasion. I WANT MY PASSES!!

Tempting as it is to just say 'finders keepers', it's getting mailed back to the folks in charge tomorrow, so they can hold it at will-call for whoever it is they shorted. Kind of an odd thing, though.

I assume you've contacted someone to find out the correct place to send such a package? I'm not sure I'd trust the return address, since it's a 3rd party place that mails the badges.

I've been watching my friends go nuts on Facebook, Twitter, and these Forums that they've received their badges. I'm waiting patiently, but decreasingly so, at the mailbox for mine. I see soothing messages not to be alarmed, that badges are going out in waves and likely not all have been sent yet.
At what point should I become concerned if I haven't yet received my badges? If it makes a difference, I've ordered a PAX Dev badge among the PAX Prime badges ordered for my family, and I took advantage of the opportunity to purchase an additional PAX Prime badge to go with my PAX Dev badge on 25 July 2012. My mailing address is in the continental US, so there should be no international issues.

you should contact registration and find out. I know that July 9th was the deadline for address changes for badges, so you may have to pick up at will call. Either way, contact registration.

Of course- honestly, I was kinda hoping they'd say 'just keep it, we make extra for this reason'... silly, maybe, but I wanted to try and get my brother in (they sold out when I was in the middle of grabbing my group's badges, so he didn't get one.)

Sent. I'll post here if I get an answer useful to more people than just me.
i had two different sets of badges being sent to my house: 2 three day passes for me and my husband, then 2 single day passes for a friend who couldn't afford them at the time but is coming from michigan specifically for PAX. they were bought a day apart, post meltdown.
i received my 2 three day passes RIGHT away, but have yet to receive the 2 single day passes.
when i hadn't received them by friday the 10th i contacted pax questions, who said to contact them again if i hadn't received them the following friday (the 17th). does anyone know what happens if your passes just DON'T show up? they said they'd check their returned mail, but if it's not returned.... what happens? they'll make it work, right?!

Judging from my emails over my extra badge, passes that don't get to their buyers are picked up at will call during the event (she specifically said that's where my returned badge would end up.)
I wouldn't fret over it, my badges were late last year. Just make sure you've got your confirmation emails handy and do what the nice registration people say.

well yes, THAT i figured. i was just wondering if anyone had any experience from a previous PAX as to how they handled a situation like this.

My experience with anything PAX related has never been "Oh, yeah, we screwed up, but sucks to be you." I can't recall even hearing about any (legitimate) situations like that (buying a fake badge and having it confiscated doesn't count, PAX didn't screw up.) It sounds like you're doing things correctly, have patience, they will take care of you.

My badges never showed up the first year I went (2010). I simply contacted Pax and they told me to bring my information with me to Will Call and a replacement badge would be waiting for me to pick up. It was very simple.
I know its difficult, but you can relax. You will be taken care of.

Yeah, the main thing I was trying to impress on the thread is simply that while they WILL take care of you, you need to keep the lines of communication open so that they know they need to take care of you.

thanks for the reassurance, everyone! i didn't think the good people at PAX HQ would leave me hanging, but i am a disastersizer (real word, i swear O.o) and i normally worry more than necessary. it's good to hear that people with similar problems were taken care of in the past!
So, anyway, I received a package from PAX, but instead of my badge, all that was inside was this bobcat. Is there somewhere I can exchange the bobcat for my 3-day pass?
Got my 3 day pass in! Silly question but is that all I need to bring? There seems to be no identification number on them. How do they know its not a fake?

Yes, that's all you need to bring. There are other security measures in place on the badges other than visible ID numbers.
