Vegetarian Glucosamine for dogs?

I have an arthritic dog and my vet wants him to be on a glucosamine supplement. But the only ones I can find are shellfish-based and they my dog horrible diarhhea, even if I give it to him in tiny quantities. I know that there are now vegetarian glucosamine supplements for humans, but I can't find one formulated for dogs. Does anyone where I can get a vegetarian supplement for pets, or has anyone out there used the vegetarian human supplements with a dog?

I don't know about vegetarian glucosamine, but I have given human glucosamine supplements to one of my dogs (at the advisement of my vet) for joint problems. I think it was 1000mg a day. You should probably talk to your vet before giving anything you are unsure about to your dog though.
