Luminous Arc is headed to North America

I don't think this has been posted here yet, but according to an Atlus press release they will be localizing the title for an NA release. Early indications have the game pegged as a somewhat generic-looking turn-based strategy rpg in the same vein as Tactics Ogre: Knights of the Lodis and Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance. Any chance Bursar could shed some light on this?

Generic or not, this is exactly what the DS needs.

    Hellz yeah.

I've been waiting on an announcement. Too good not to pass up. Atlus has several DS titles coming out this year that are gonna rape my wallet.

Woo! More SRPG goodness! It's good to see Mitsuda getting work again as well.

Has anyone played the import version? Is it any good?

Ha ha, oh man. I was totally wondering why they'd make an arcade port of Lumines.

    Oh jeez.

Is this related to the Arc The Lad series? In any case, no such thing as too many srpgs for handhelds.

Should I be excited for this? It looks right up my ally, but maybe someone has hands on experience with it?

though the story for this game is somewhat generic, the soundtrack certainly isn't! it takes a while for the audio module to load up on the japanese site, but the loops on there are definitely worth listening to.

Did I hear Mitsuda? Interest renewed. Looks way better than Deep Labyrinth, too(sorry, Mitsuda can't quite sell me on a game, but it's a good start).

Sadly, he cannot. For he is an NIS monkey, while this belongs to the Atlus monkeys. I think you wanna call Bursar in on this one.

Though I did try to snag this for NIS, my boss wasn't biting.

I think so far, it's like Atlus and NIS have taken on the portable market on opposite sides. NIS got the PSP, and Atlus got the DS. Talk about waging war on two fronts.

Has NIS put out any PSP games? If they have, I must've missed something, because this is the first I've heard of it.

Quite a few. Blade Dancer, Disgaea(JP, but you know this is coming here), and at least three others(one was an SRPG that focused on armies[which is the only one I remember being interested in]). I can't remember the names right now, but they might have more RPGs out for the PSP than anyone else.

I was hoping this would get picked up for localization.

No. If it were part of the Arc the Lad series it would be on PSP as the series is first party sony. Speaking of which... why isn't there an Arc the Lad game on PSP... I'd buy it.

Aw, c'mon Houk. NIS America has put out some <snicker> great <snort> PSP <chortle> gam...

Sorry, can't even finish that sentence.

And for the record, I own all 3 NISA PSP games. I like 'em, but they're not, shall we say, well reviewed.

And i really wish i could disagree with those reviews, but, well...ya know. Sucks even more that ive been in charge of 3 of the 4 titles (counting goc2), even though i had no say in bringing them over in the first place. oh well, now im working on a pretty sweet, bigger title, so im happy.

Nope. I haven't been up there in a while. If I'd had lunch with a guy from NIS named Phoenix, I surely would've said something.
