Tony Scott takes his own life, 2012 officially the year everyone dies
I like so many of Tony Scott's movies, this is sad to hear.
Domino, Top Gun, and Man on Fire top the list as ones I've watched on DVD several times. True Romance is pretty baller as well. I pretty much like all Tony Scott movies.
Days of Thunder and Enemy of the State have been good movies on tv to watch as well.
Just read mention that they found a note. I suppose it's possible that there's a pointed reason for this like cancer or something, but could also just be life-long struggling with depression or substance abuse or any combination of issues.

Ubikoh pete, that's later. maybe we'll be dead by thenRegistered Userregular
i love Man on Fire and Enemy of the State
will sit and watch them anytime they come on TV
RIP
(i didn't know he directed Domino, i enjoyed that too)
Mm days of thunder was and is a guilty pleasure movie I love. I know and care nothing for NASCAR but I fucking always loved that movie.
I loved most of his movies I remember being maybe 14-15 going to see Crimson tide with a bunch of friends from school and them getting in trouble because we went to see that instead of the movie we told our parents.
Seems like a pretty old age to be suicidal. Did he have a terminal illness or something?
no, actually
men aged 40 to 80 are the highest risk demographic for suicide
that's a pretty big age range there
I thought about it awhile ago that if I was in that age range and had to depend on something unusual to keep me going like medication or a walker than I'd probably be suicidal.
Don't know what Scott's issue was though. He chose a hell of a way to go out for someone of his status.

Probably didn't want to burden anyone he knew with the finding of his body.

and this is awful
fuck
This is news I did not expect to hear today. I feel awful for his family, especially Ridley.

this is really unfortunate!!
This sucks
True Romance is one of my favorites, and Man on Fire is one of the most visually interesting films I've ever seen
I also looked forward to his crazy-ass remake of The Warriors that never happened
I did like True Romance as well

But The Last Boy Scout is straight up better than Die Hard 2.
but Unstoppable was pretty damn good
meaning I will happily watch it whenever it is on and enjoy it but not really remember much about it
and true romance was excellent
dang
Need to rewatch The Hunger and True Romance in his honor.
So many fun films, such a peculiar way to go out.

If you're comparing that to 18-25 year olds it wouldn't be surprising
