My mouse is starting to shit out on me, and my boss told me to find one on newegg and send him a link. I've been looking at this one. Whatever I pick, it has to be symmetrical (at work I mouse left handed with buttons reversed), and if the USB dongle is tiny that's a huge plus because I take my laptop home at night. Side buttons for forward/back would be nice, but I think that probably conflicts with the symmetrical requirement.
What I can't tell from from images about that mouse is what the back half is made of. It's flexible, obviously, but I don't know if it's a soft-touch surface, or textured, or how much friction there is between it at the mouse surface, etc.
I love that mouse you linked. I use it for my work laptop very often. The back surface is soft to the touch. There is very little friction between the mouse and the mouse surface. There are small pads on the front and the back that touch the surface when in the "active" position.
